bhai ji school me urdu me parha kar college me English main parha do. bohot achay. College kay first year main he bera garak ho jata hay.... sub say pehlay tu urdu medium ko ya batana paray ga kee riyaazee ko math kehtay hain aur Economics ko kiya kehtay hain.

o meray bhaiyoo app logo ko Imran khan ke batain samaj hee nahi ateen. ameeroon kay bachy English medium main parhain aur gareeboo kay urdu medium main. pehlay oriya say pocho us nay kaha say perha hay... Urdu medium ke jan choro. Ya jo batain un sahab nay likhee hain ya sub bakwass hay. Sub kay liya English ya phir sub kay liya Urdu.

IK ke kudh apni book mein yeh sub kuch likha hai, aur kehta bhi hai, phir aisa kiyon keya? IK was saying ke eng aik subject ho gaya, edu eng mein nahi ho gayi, can someone clarify?

Orya jaan sahib apnay likhay howay colum ko teen dafaa goor say parhooo. phir app ko shaid samj ajay kee Imran khan English medium kiyoon chahta hay. Apkee kee howee tanqeed ka jawaab bhee apko apnay hee tehree say mill jaya ga.
Orya is hundred percent right. In Sweden, they can even get a PhD degree in any field of their interest purely in Swedish. Although the international students are taught in English but they have to write the abstract of their thesis in Swedish and English together.
English is only a medium to communicate and we must learn it as a second language but all the education must be in our own language.

orya is most time right but not always...if we must get any language its Arabic,the language of quran,so we must understand our deen better (not through majority munafiq molvis who distort the deen many times)..opther than that what difference does it make which language we study in.all languages are same...as for Japanese germans etc people look how much research they do...so for them giving education in their language is practical...how will we give science education in udue?our whole language has no science research in it ,will we teach ghalib and hasrats ishqiya shaairi to students.this is what our language has been reduced to..but this does not mean that we adopt western peoples habits and religion too.if we have to study in English we must try preserving our religion too via simultaneous religious education to all

میں نے اسی طریقے سے تعلیم حاصل کی کہ پرائمری اور ہائی اسکول اردو میڈیم تھے اور اس کے بعد کالج انگریزی میں جیسا کہ عام طور پر پاکستان میں تھا
فرق صرف یہ تھا کہ میرے انگریزی کے استاد اچھے تھے
اس کا فائدہ مجھے یہ محسوس ہوتا ہے کہ آپ اپنی مادری زبان میں کمزور نہیں ہوتے جیسا کہ میں نے بہت سے انگریزی میڈیم اسکول کے لوگوں کو دیکھا کہ انہیں اردو کے مشکل الفاظ اور اردو شاعری اور ادب سمجھنے میں مشکل

I support English as medium of instruction for science subjects (Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer Science) etc. at all levels.
Islamiyat, Social Studies/Pakistan Studies may be in Urdu (or English), alongwith Urdu as a subject/language, plus Arabic too.
I support teaching of Quran with translation at schools preferably with no sect related education or extremist views, translation may be in Pashto (or mother tongue/regional language) or Urdu.
Suppose I marry a Pashto speaking lady, and live in KPK, I'll never opt my kid to learn in Urdu and Pashto only, especially science subjects, never. KPK can not progress with Pashto and Urdu only. Even if I opt for myself, I'll never opt to study in Urdu Medium school, no way.... I am happy with English medium at all levels for myself. IK is IK coz he studied in aitchison and oxford. I prefer to be IK than Molana Fazloo or Nawaz or Zardari or Taafu or any extremist.
Orya Maqbool's column and examples suggest Punjabi as language of instruction for Punjabis, Sindhi for Sindhis, Urdu for people of Karachi, Balochi for Balochs, try this, not a single educated family of Punjab will send their kids to such schools, even in Punjab, there are at least 1 dozen Punjabi variants and accents.
It's 2013 jani, we are already 100 years behind the world.... This typical mindset is not letting us come out of Madrassas at primary level even. If you want to be an aalim/faazil/Aalim e hadith/mufassir, complete 12 schooling years like UK first with mathematics, science and languages and computer science as compulsory subjects, then go for specialization, 4 years degree or something like that.
U may disagree with me, but this is how i think and 've learnt from my experience and exposure.
