You also know that government ( any Pakistani Government) doesn’t pass on the same amount of relief to public. Suppose, if crude oil price drops by 10%, government of Pakistan lowers the price of petroleum products by about 3-5 %. This I have noticed over past many many years and this government is no different to its predecessors in this regard. One of the reasons is that this government used same finance ministers ( Hafeez Sheikh, Shaukat Tareen) which previous governments used.

Government announced to decrease oil prices from about Rs.98 to Rs.75 but oil mafia completely stopped the supply of oil. This forced government to increase oil prices to Rs.90 at some odd day ( it was neither 15th nor 30th of the month) and immediately the supply chain resumed. Government then announced an inquiry commission to punish oil marketing companies and blackmailers but nothing happened and everyone got scot free.

I think you are right. As a matter of fact all governments do the same, never pass on the initial benefits to the consumers.
