Anyone who has tried to buy a home in Toronto or filled up with a tank of gas, knows how much prices have gone up recently.

Home prices have shot up to unattainable levels with Toronto less affordable than New York or Los Angles. Gas prices are hitting record levels, and a trip to the grocery store is costing more than ever. Recent data shows Canada's annual inflation rate hit an 18-year-high, up 4.4 per cent, the fastest annual pace since February of 2003.

Topping the list across Canada are gas prices — rising 32.8 per cent compared with September last year, according to Statistics Canada. Ontario saw a 34.5 per cent increase in gas prices.

Food prices rose 3.7 per cent year over year in September in Ontario.

The homeowners' replacement cost index, which is related to the price of new homes, continued to increase slightly year over year, rising 14.1 per cent in Ontario. Relative to September 2020, price growth continued to trend upward amid higher construction costs and historically low interest rates across Canada.

Inflation increases are happening around the world and experts say it is because Global supply chain bottlenecks linked to lockdowns are not easing as quickly as expected, and that it will take a little longer for inflation rates to decrease.

"What this all means, in all our countries, is that inflation — measures of inflation — are probably going to take a little longer to come back down," said Tiff Macklem, the governor of the Bank of Canada, last week.

How is Canadian inflation relevant here ?
Would Canadian inflation trivialize inflation of Pakistan?
countries are living by acquiring debt. How long could one survive by taking on debt? Why our prophet used to pray for protection against sin and debt?

Canadian inflation is 4.4% and Pakistan is above 10%. even Canadian highest is better than Pakistan's lowest or close to that. Last government left it at 3.9% and inflation during their last year of their power was close to what Canada has now. If Pakistani inflation reduces to 4.4%, people will be jumping on the road in happiness instead of protest.

The last government used loans to prop up the rupee against the dollar. This not going to be sustainable. The cause of high inflation is devaluation of the rupee, hoarding inside Pakistan and increases price of oil,gas and other commodities.Pakistan is an agricultural country but it imports lentils, cooking oil, wheat and sugar.Pakistan spends a lot of money on import of tea.Pakistan can save a lot of money if it becomes self sufficient in food. The only way forward is to increase exports and pay off the loans as soon as possible.Pakistan is paying billions of dollars in interest every year on these loans.Imports of luxury goods should not allowed. Finally produce consumer goods at home to cut import bill and provide jobs .

This government has taken loans much more than previous government even they threw dollars of over 1 billion in market to stabilise dollar but still dollar flying high. If previous government temporarily held dollar then are gone three years ago and as per government we have released dollar three year ago. We cannot blame it now for previous government and dollar rise this time is not same as other countries. Our currency devalued double than Indian rupee and worst in compare to other countries. If government were to blame everything on previous government then why they came in power; to make things worst? Have they told public before elections? Even after coming to power government kept on promising that things will be better after six months. People now don't believe on this government as they lost their credibility by making consistently false claims.

The present government had to take loans because there was no foreign reserves left.Pakistan was close to defaulting. Thanks to Saudi Arabia,UAE and China ,Pakistan was saved from defaulting. The present government has to deal with covid-19.The previous givernment turned Pakistan into an import let economy which is not sustainable.Pakistan is not an oil rich country which can afford to have huge trade deficit.Pakistan’s trade deficit was $35billion in 2018.This government reduced it to $18b in 2020.
