اس ایک بندے کے پکڑے جانے سے کروڑوں لوگوں کو فائدہ ہوگا کسی کے بیٹی اٹھا لیتے ہیں تو کسی کا بیٹا دھندے پر لگا دیتے ہیں افسران کو کرپٹ کرنے میں بھی یہی مافیا ملوث ہے​

Should he not be PUBLICALLY hanged and as Justce Sethi [marhoom] said for Mushy should his body be left hanging till he rots? What about the Ganja and Murdari gangs. they stole so much money that the public hospitals are left without sufficient life saving drugs while Bhagori wears dresses each worth hundreds of thousands rupees, while the poor man cannot afford two square meals a day.

What you wrote about drugs and addicts is right
But Issues in Columbia are much complex and political.
Columbia is the second largest (pop wise) country in SA and key for keeping hold on the continent and militarizing . US and CIA have been in the business of "War on Drugs" since 1960 ( as a part of cold war strategy). Though US was involved in this "Columbian war" in early 20th century as well. "War on drugs" has been a conduit to prop up right winger militants, set up dictatorships and to control city criminal gangs in all South America, especially Columbia. CIA has been active architect in this "War" As long as US maintains its policy to police and hegemonize SA, this "War" will go on. In each of these countries Drug War is linked to internal political conflict involving ethnic, racial or regional divisions. US is the main consumer of drugs and more often drug cartels of SA are embedded in US. (There are dozens of books and studies about conduct of CIA/US in SA to militarize the continent using Drug Wars'. "War on Drugs" is somewhat illusive like "War on Terror" on Middle East and Muslims in general. It is a big business as well like War on terror. In the pretext of Drug Wars all sort of crimes and shady groups are funded. In the late eighties after afghan war, US had initiated a "Drug War" in Pakistan also - remember Aimal Kansi who was a part of CIA recruits however soon "War on Drugs" was replaced with "War on terror" for better political control. War on Terror had wider reach to right-wing militants and also to post-USSR leftists.
So besides all social ills of drugs, inhuman violence and armed cartels will go on as long as they serve local right-wingers and imperialists

Marhoom Zia Shahid (editor Khabrain) had written a series of columns (30+?) as "Nawaz Shareef, Mera Dost" It was later compiled as a web-book.
Zia Shahid was close confident to Nawaz who conducted his media campaigns and political negotiations in late 80s/90s
He described an events with all details how Nawaz/PMLN was funded by some drug dealers (+party ticket holders) of Lahore who were facilitated by administration; Nawaz Shareef personally knew about it .
He has written about an incident when Nawaz was confronted by zia shahid and by some higher up to confront the issue asking him to disassociate the party from drug business . Nawaz replied "we need party funds!!! and ignored it) That is direct testimony of Nawaz' drug business links.

It is a worth reading book (though I couldn't find a web version on the net which I have with me) but columns can be searched. It is very useful to understand political bankruptcy of Nawaz and his father Shareef and politics of those two decades.
