بھارت کی ریاست مدھیہ پردیش میں ایک شخص نے دلت خاتون کے ہاتھوں روٹی کھانے پر اپنے پالتو کتّے کو گھر سے نکال دیا ہے۔
مذکورہ کتّا ایک راجپوت خاندان کا ہے جسے دلت خاتون نے روٹی کھلائی۔ بطور سزا پنچایت نے روٹی کھلانے کے جرم میں خاتون پر بھی پندرہ ہزار روپے کا جرمانہ عائد کیا ہے۔
خاتون نے اس زیادتی کے لیے پولیس سے شکایت کی ہے لیکن ان کا کہنا ہے کہ حکام نے اس بارے میں کوئی کارروائی نہیں کی ہے۔
کتے کا نام شیرو اور اس کے مالک کا نام امرت لال ہے۔ یہ واقعہ مدھیہ پردیش کے ضلع مرینا میں مانیکا پور گاؤں کا ہے۔
ہوا یوں ہے کہ دلت خاتون سنیتا جاٹو کھیت میں کام کرنے والے اپنے شوہر کے لیے کھانا لے کر گئی تھیں۔ شوہر کے کھانے کے بعد روٹی کے جو ٹکڑے بچے تھے وہ انہوں نے اس پالتو کتے کو ڈال دیے۔
شیرو نے روٹی بڑے شوق سے کھالی مگر اس کے مالک امرت لال نے دیکھ لیا۔ پہلے تو امرت لال نے سنیتا کو کھری کھوٹی سنائی پھر یہ کہہ کر کہ چونکہ اس کے کتّے نے دلت کے گھر کی روٹی کھا لی ہے اس لیے اب وہ اس لائق نہیں رہا کہ اس کے گھر میں رہ سکے۔
اب یہ کتّا گاؤں میں دلتوں کی اکثریت والے علاقے میں ایک کھمبے سے باندھ دیا گیا ہے۔ اور مالک اسے لے جانے کے لیے تیار نہیں۔
کتے کے اونچی ذات کے مالک نےگاؤں کی پنچایت میں دعویٰ کیا ہے کہ اس کتّے کی شکل میں اس کا بہت نقصان ہوا اس لیے پنچایت نے دلت خاتون پر پندرہ ہزار روپے کا جرمانہ عائد کر دیا۔
یہ معاملہ اب اس خصوصی تھانے میں ہے جس میں ہریجن اور دلتوں کے معاملات کی دیکھ ریکھ ہوتی ہے۔
بھارت میں ذات پات کی بنیاد پر لوگوں کے ساتھ امتیازی سلوک ایک عام بات ہے۔ دیہی علاقوں میں نام نہاد اونچی ذات کے لوگ اپنے کنویں سے
دلتوں کو پانی نہیں بھرنے دیتے اور نا ہی ان کے کنویں سے پیتے ہیں۔

In Indian state of Madhya Pradesh a man removed his pet dog from his house when he saw him eating bread from a dalit woman.
That dog belonged to a Rajput family. Panchayat as punishment for the sin of feeding the bread also has fined the lady fifteen thousand rupees.
The woman complained to police but they said authorities have not taken any action about it.
Dog's name is Sheru and owner's name is Amarat Lal. The incident happened in Morena district of Madhya Pradesh is Manik Pur village.
The Dalit woman Sunita Jatu was taking food for her husband who was working in the field. After her husband had finished eating she gave the remaining pieces of bread to the dog.

Now that dog is tied to a pole in the the majority of Dalits in the village. And owner not willing to take it.
Nygawn dog owner of upper-caste panchayat's claim that the dog has made him suffer a lot because of Dalit woman so asked the panchayat for a fine of fifteen thousand rupees on her.

In India discrimination with people on the basis of their ethnicities is common. In Rural areas so-called high caste people do not allow Dalits to take water from their wells.

Our religion gives lesson of equality, as holy prophet PBUH said that his daughter and daughter of any other person are equal.
Whereas caste system is part of Hindu religion and it is the main reason why our elders decided to live in a saperate country.

Sunita Jatav with Sheru Sunita Jatav fed Sheru some leftover bread

Police in India are investigating claims that a Dalit woman has been ordered to pay compensation to the high-caste owners of a dog she fed.

The woman says the village council wants her to pay a fine of 15,000 rupees ($330) for feeding the dog, which the owners have now kicked out.

They are reported to have said the dog is "untouchable", but deny being motivated by caste considerations.

Although widespread, discrimination against Dalits is an offence in India.

Dalits, who make up nearly 20% of the Indian population, say little has changed despite the government enacting various laws banning caste-based discrimination.

'He got very angry'

The incident took place in Malikpur village in Morena district in central Madhya Pradesh state.

"I made some roti [Indian bread] and took it to my husband who works in a farm. After I had fed him, we had some leftovers which I gave to the dog," the Dalit woman, Sunita Jatav, said.

She said the owner of the dog, Amrutlal Kirari, saw her feeding him.

"He got very angry and said 'You've fed my dog, it has become an untouchable now'."

Mrs Jatav said Mr Kirari left the dog, a black mongrel called Sheru, tied to a pole outside her house.

On Monday, the village council met and decided that Sheru had been defiled and hence Mr Kirari should be paid 15,000 rupees as compensation, Mrs Jatav alleged.

On Tuesday, she approached the district collector of Morena who ordered an inquiry into the incident.

Senior police officer in the area, Baldev Singh, told the BBC that he was investigating the matter.

He said Mr Kirari had alleged that after eating the bread, Sheru fell ill.

Mr Kirari said he abandoned the dog at Mrs Jatav's house so she could look after it and nurse it back to health, Mr Singh added.

Dalits - formerly untouchables - are considered at the bottom of the Hindu caste system.

Any discrimination against them is an offence and punishable by law.

Morena (Madhya Pradesh): In a bizarre incident, three brothers have been booked along with their neighbour for calling their dog "untouchable" after it ate food given by a Dalit woman in Morena's Malikpura area last week.

"Three brothers Amrit Singh Yadav, Naresh, and Ramveer and their neighbour Lallu Singh - all members of the OBC - have been booked under relevant sections of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act last night," SC/ST Police Station deputy Superintendent of Police, Baldev Singh said.

The accused had allegedly declared their pet "untouchable" and demanded Rs. 15,000 as compensation from Sunita Jatav after it ate bread given by the Dalit woman, police said.

The accused also dumped the dog at Sunita's place.
The matter came to light on September 21 when Sunita took the dog to a public hearing and narrated her ordeal to top police officers.

The accused, while denying the allegations, claimed that they had given the dog to the woman as it fell ill after eating food given by her.
