According to the experts, we're in the very initial stages of the COVID-19 pandemic.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel believes that 60-70% of the German population is likely to get infected.
It is going to take 15-18 months at least to prepare a vaccine for it.
The stock market has already crashed! Trillions of dollars are lost and remember, we are still in the very initial stages.
First world countries are already on their knees and we really haven't seen the spread in the third world countries yet. China has done a tremendous job so far but economically, they are completely crushed. How would 3rd world countries handle it, where the resources are already very scarce?
Even though the death rate is very low and mostly elderly people with complications die but all of the patients have to be admitted to the hospital and put on ventilators. Would the death rate be way higher in 3rd world countries because of low resources and poor healthcare system?
Let's have a look at Canada, where the population is merely 37 million and they already have designated 3 billion dollars to tackle Coronavirus. They have an exceptional healthcare system in place.
On the other hand, Pakistan's population is around 200 million and we already have an extremely struggling economy. How do you see us handling this?
This is something no one has ever seen, therefore we have a difficult time imagining the concequences it is going to have!
I personally think that the current 'global system', as we know, is over. The world will sit together after this and new realities will be made. Economic turmoil hasn’t even started yet. It will hit us mid-year forward.
I know I sound very grim but that's what I see.
Would love to hear your thoughts!
