Imran Khan came as a gleam of hope in the lives of disheartened and demoralised Pakistanis. Those who sacrificed physically and financially to make his 126 day 'dharna' in Islamabad against the system a success can vouch for the high spirit of the people at that time. However after coming to power, hopes kept falling like soldiers in a battlefield.

Since his assuming power, nothing has improved in the country from the governance point of view. Same corrupt practices prevail in all affairs of the government, same despondency continues. His rhetoric against corruption begins and ends with Nawaz Sharif as an obsession as if it is a personal feud and not a national issue.

Across the board accountability has not been seen, nor does he mention about it in his speeches. No institution has seen any improvement. Even the LB system he promised was debased and distorted when put into practice in KP.

Though still better than his predecessors, people were expecting much more from him. Making excuses of system not allowing him to work is the worse thing a leader can say. He was expected to change the system. Not to complain about it as PM.

He only relies on making emotional speeches full of sound and fury signifying nothing practically.. Not what we prayed for and worked for, alas.
