Is EVM the need of Imran Khan?

The answer is a big NOOO. Imran Khan won the GE 2018 with traditional method. He continued his victories in GB, AJK and Cantonment ( A little expected upset was there in cantonment in Punjab). He is consistently winning with the traditional method of voting and the GE 2023 will not be an exception. He will win hands down.

He urged opposition to agree on open balloting in senate elections and said the secret balloting will help PTI government and we witnessed the same. Opposition miserably lost the Chairman senate elections. If they had agreed on open balloting, the situation could have been different.

His stress on EVM is only a way forward for this nation. Imran Khan is not only a Prime Minister but a reformer. The use of EVMs will help the contesting candidates and political parties to focus on performance not on the techniques to rig elections. EVMs will stop every method of rigging. It will transform the society for next thousands of years. Once the elections are free and fair, the country will be on track of progress. Free and fair elections are the essence of the progress.

As far as Imran Khan is concerned, he is a brand. He will easily win next elections through traditional method of voting too. He is only trying to close the chapter of rigging by introducing EVMs.

No, it cannot stop all type of rigging, but yes, it can help to curb at least cancelled votes. See electoral reforms are not only about EVM, that's just one part of the solution

EVM cannot do this, nor anywhere internationally it cannot be curbed. But if this is the biggest problem, then govt can start a new initiative where all politically candidates phone calls should be tapped, FIA & Police should be vigilant and follow all the candidates and their friends / relatives. SECP to monitor their banking records and keep tap on all transactions for at least a year before the elections. You see how difficult it is.

The other easier way is political party takes responsibility and ensure accountability within their party as proposed in electoral reforms.

Electoral reforms is not only about EVM, the new electoral reforms also talks about reforming the election commission.

So the law is already there. Election commission should come up with options to monitor & punish on this.
But this is also a very hard task. e.g. in US they have similar so what happens is that donors of the party come forward & promote the candidate, which becomes an individual act and doesn't fall under the law. So whatever you do, there is always a work around.
e.g. a restaurant gives free food in the constituency with the name of his preferred candidate. No law can ask him not to distribute free food.

biometric verification is also part of the electoral reform, EVM is just there to cast vote on machine instead of stamping paper, this will eliminate rejected votes.

The voter verification will be done with biometric solution.
The biggest reason why parties like pmln, ppp & mqm are against it. they have also used fake voter data to get the additional edge

PMLN should sue Aitzaz over this statement.
25% is very large number, they should point out those fake voters while scutiny of voting lists. If we believe this statement we should reduce our population by 25% also.
