NAB, FBR and FIA - Investigate Panama or we'll protest

In his historical address to the first Constituent Assembly of Pakistan on 11 Aug 1947, Jinnah identified his first priority as maintaining Law and Order and the second as: One of the biggest curses from which India is suffering...is bribery and corruption. That really is a poison. We must put it down with an iron hand.

NAB is Pakistan's apex anti-corruption organisation, FBR has anti-money laundering investigation powers and FIA has an Anti-Corruption and Economic Crime Wing. We, the undersigned, hereby appeal that you work together to hold a serious and open inquiry into the alleged involvement of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in the ensuing Panama Papers scandal.

Following your lack of active involvement in investigating this case so far, we are registering this online petition as a means to raise our voice and exercise our democratic right to protest.

We are led to believe that your powers restrict you from holding this inquiry. If that is indeed true, in the interest of strengthening these sacred democratic institutions, we intend to come out and peacefully protest in front of your offices to demand sufficient powers for you from the Parliament. Our struggle is not for Nawaz Sharif's resignation but for restoring accountability of politicians in front of the nation and it is you who's responsible for implementing that. If your institutions are working well, no politician will ever dare rob the nation.

Yours Sincerely,

Ordinary citizens of Pakistan

- This petition will be delivered to Chairman NAB, Chairman FBR and DG FIA -

This fresh petition has been drafted for submission, perhaps, after the court has dismissed the same in limine with the remarks "this is not the right stage for admitting the petition for hearing".
