Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates discussed a planned refinery in the western Indian state of Maharashtra that will cost at least $70 billion, a figure that exceeds the initial $44 billion estimate previously announced.

The new figure came from a read-out of a meeting in the UAE between Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Wednesday evening.

The statement said the two sides discussed the initiative, first announced in 2018, to develop the refinery and petrochemicals complex, which would secure the supply of 600,000 barrels per day of Saudi and Emirati crude oil for Indias market.

The project, which would be run by a consortium that includes Saudi Aramco and ADNOC, has yet to begin or secure land.

Dear We are happy for you. India is their long lost relatives. 1400 years ago you and them were the same. Now As I heard they have opened a Mandir in UAE that would make your relation with them iron clad. We are on a right track and it will take couple of Years. I would suggest they should spend 100 Billion in india as you are 10 times the size of Pakistan. This is peanuts by looking at the size of economy. We are happy for what we have.Still Pakistan in 67th on the happiness index and India is 140. Says it all. Good Luck

Dude India has trade with UAE worth of our entire export. They are huge in size and that 70 billions are nothing to India. They have holes in economy like us which is sinking due to Modi. We have a small economy which is now on a right track. Asad umer should focus on bringing the Chineses Manufacture to install the plants here in Pakistan. Easy for them to transport the good rather then bringing all the way down to Gawadar. We have young population and in dire need to jobs. The Potential is here but need some time to capitalise it. We are very happy for what we have. Alhamdulliah. India is one of the biggest economy but their poverty rate, hunger index and heck in the happiness index they are sinking. We will rise. Good luck to them and let's work hard for our economy.

Why would Chinese manufacture goods in Pakistan? They would be competing against their own industry. China is a malevolent power.

India has a large population and thus more mouths to feed with large land mass. It will require time and investment to see any noteable visible difference.

If you know and understand Arabs then it is very clear why they are investing in India. The strategic security environment is changing and expect this 'void' to be filled by India.

Beggars should thank Allah for what they have. We were made beggars by the choices we made by selecting Noora and Zardari and now we have made another choice, I hope it turns out great. It seems great and we are on right track. The beggars are in a good condition and happy and prosper by World Bank Report and have more than the 1 trying to portray that he is suitable for the seat in security council. To heck with the economy which can't feed it poor. 109 out of 119 in Hunger global index, Poverty index Higher then Pakistan, Access to Clean water are less in India then Pakistan, Don't even start me on homeless etc.
