Showbiz persons bag national awards while real heroes remain unknown

Every time on a national day, when awards are dished out, names of showbiz persons and sportsmen appear in the forefront. The showbiz personalia are already enjoying celebrity status just for acting in films and dramas. So are the sportsmen who play to earn and enjoy popularity with viewers, but does that justify them being eligible for national awards. In contrast there are those unknown heroes who serve humanity in their own capacity without greed for money or popularity. They are the ones who deserve awards. They should be traced out. Unfortunately, in Pakistan everything is on approach and rishwat, even honour and recognition.

Only the awards for showbiz are highlighted in the media -and every time the fluff of "rishwat and approach" is also repeated to make up more news. IMO the list of awardees/categories is long. Awards are given on 3 different days in a year for various categories . In any case. imo, the state and society should especially patronize and recognize arts among others.

Awards are given on 3 different days in a year for various categories . In any case. imo, the state and society should especially patronize and recognize arts among others.

They should definitely be patronized and encouraged by being paid cash or plots etc. When it comes to giving them honourable awards, pray what is the honour in acting in a film or drama or playing cricket or guli danda.
