If the Taliban want to rule Afghanistan for a long period of time then they would have to abandon their rigid, harsh, and medieval philosophy and entropy of mind. They can not win the hearts, minds, and souls of the population by cutting their hands, feet and hanging them publicly for minor crimes but to demonstrate that Islam is a tolerant, magnanimous, harmonious, pragmatic, and empirical Deen and a complete code of life for not only the Muslims but also the whole of the humanity to follow. Islamic Sharia and Jurisprudence are adjustable and accomodating with the passage of time but the Quranic Commandments and Teachings are untouchables and unalterable until the End of Time.
Taliban must act sensibly, speak sensibly, and demonstrate political, diplomatic abilities and capability to govern the country with wisdom as well as authority and refrain from distorting Islam and impose their version to dissuade the population. They must ensure to avoid every mistake they made last time they ruled their country and also keep in mind that need to govern the country with consent and cooperation of the Afghan masses.
