Just to clarify. Situation is not that simple. Russia had dumped Armenia after years of persuading them to resolve the issue (which Russia had promised in several agreements), Russia and Armenia had affinity but there are limits.
Armenia cannot run anti-Muslim campaigns when Russia has a large Muslim population and a large number Muslims are in their forces.
When Russia decided to mend their relations with turkey, then Armenia had no place but as baggage.
Armenia had support of Iran but only for bargaining.

Secondly, you do know that Turkey has recently put a blockade on Russian War ships in Black see right ? So no, Turkey and Russia are not close to each other. And Armenia has NATO like agreement with Russia, so if Armenia is attacked Russia will defend it. The reason Russia could not send its forces was same as why NATO is not sending its forces to Ukraine despite sending them weapons, because the territory in conflict isnt included in the defense agreement.
