I should remind to recall the movie Devil's advocate or read the novel of Banu Qudsia Raja Gidh...
When badness and wickedness permeates in the society, it is infused into the people, passed on the generations and whole society becomes one giant cesspit.
One random act of goodness is far and few inbetween and is dwarfed by the pervasity of badness. I wish you lot luck...it will take at least several decades to get out of this mess , if at all.
