Much older than that. It was built in the early 1900s. Its more than a century old.
US/UK built their infrastructure during the industrial revolution.
China built theirs during the technological revolution, with access to tons of resources that were not avialable 100+ years ago.
Subways like NYC are not easy to replace as they are built in heavily trafficked and populated areas. Thats why they are overhauled most of the time.
China has benefited from technology built by the west.
