نارتھ کیرولینا: دو امریکی جامعات نے سوئی لگوانے سے خوفزدہ افراد کےلیے ویکسین سے بھرا ہوا پیوند تیار کیا ہے جو ابتدائی آزمائش میں سوئی والی ویکسین سے بہتر اور مؤثر ثابت ہوا ہے۔
اسٹینفرڈ یونیورسٹی اور یونیورسٹی آف نارتھ کیرولائنا چیپل ہِل نے اسٹیکر نما پیوند تیار کیا ہے جس میں بہت ساری باریک سوئیاں نصب ہیں۔ جب انہیں جلد پر چپکایا جاتا ہے تو سوئیوں میں موجود ویکسین کی خوراک جلد کے اندر سرایت کرجاتی ہیں اور یوں ویکسین دینے کا عمل مکمل ہوجاتا ہے۔
اس کا ایک فائدہ یہ ہے کہ جلد میں امنیاتی خلیات موجود ہوتے ہیں جو عموماً ویکسین کا ہدف ہوتے ہیں۔ یہ طریقہ روایتی طور پر ویکسین دینے سے کئی گنا بہتر ہے جس میں عموماً بازو میں ٹیکہ لگایا جاتا ہے۔ اس کی تفصیلات پروسیڈنگز آف دی نیشنل اکیڈمی آف سائنسز میں شائع کی گئی ہیں۔
دلچسپ بات یہ ہے کہ اسے مکمل طور پر تھری ڈی پرنٹر سے کاڑھا گیا ہے جس میں ڈاک ٹکٹ کی جسامت کے پولیمر ٹکڑے پر باریک سوئیاں لگائی گئی ہیں۔ اس سے سوئی کی تکلیف کم ہوتی ہے اور لوگوں کی بڑی تعداد کو بہت تیزی سے ویکسین یا کسی اور دوا کا ٹیکہ لگایا جاسکتا ہے۔
’اس ٹیکنالوجی کی بدولت پوری دنیا کے لوگوں میں ویکسین کی کم، درمیانی یا زیادہ خوراک لگائی جاسکتی ہے۔ اس کےلیے خاص مہارت کی ضرورت نہیں ہوتی اور سوئی کا خوف بھی جاتا رہتا ہے۔ یہاں تک کہ خود مریض بھی اسے استعمال کرسکتا ہے،‘ پروفیسر جوزف ڈی سائمن نے کہا جو اس تحقیق کے سربراہ ہیں۔
اس ایجاد کا دوسرا اہم پہلو یہ ہے کہ سوئیوں کی تعداد اور خوراک کی مقدار کو کم یا زیادہ کیا جاسکتا ہے جبکہ معمولی مقدار پر بھی وہی امنیاتی فوائد حاصل کئے جاسکتے ہیں کیونکہ جلد پرموجود خلیات امنیاتی طور پر بہت سرگرم ہوتے ہیں۔ تھری ڈی پرنٹر سے کئی اقسام کے پیوند بنا کر انہیں، فلو، خسرہ، کووڈ اور ہیپاٹائٹس کی ویکسین سے لیس کیا جاسکتا ہے۔​

Nothing to sneeze at: nasal sprays to tackle Covid-19​

COVIXYL-V (Salvacion USA)​

New Jersey-based medical devices company Salvacion, in partnership with the National Cancer Institute, is developing a nasal spray technology to prevent Covid-19 infection. The spray, COVIXYL-V, contains the active ingredient ethyl lauroyl arginate hydrochloride (ELAH) and creates a physical barrier that prevents the virus from attaching itself to the surface in the nasopharynx.


An in vitro study of COVIXYL-V with an rVSV-SARS-CoV-2 model showed the virus is 99.99% inhibited at a low concentration. An in vivo study in Syrian hamsters also demonstrated that the virus is 99.99% inactivated with no adverse events following the administration of the spray.

Salvacion has submitted COVIXYL-V to the FDA for pre-emergency use authorization and is awaiting approval for the product’s commercial use in the US.

Well it is good that they have now come up with a sticker for people who are afraid of needles but there is nothing to be afraid of needles as you don't even feel it when injected…. and there is no pain at all.
They are using baby needles with only 0.5 ml of vaccine in it and you don't even feel anything when poked…The whole procedure takes 5 seconds.
I got vaccinated a week ago and just after the doctor touched my arm with that needle, he smiled and said, Saboo we are done….Haha now that was a pleasant surprise.

Not sure what will be the outcome of it and what the ingredients are but, it seems promising against the covid virus.
The other current vaccines in the market were approved by the FDA on an emergency basis not knowing exactly what the future repercussions would be of these vaccines. So far it seems to be helping and hoping that the world will come out of this pandemic soon.
