Faith & Evolution- At loggerheads or not?

Atheism is not the denial of God, it’s the refusal to believe in God without evidence.

So it’s the opposite of faith.

Believing something without evidence is faith.

Refusing to believe something without evidence is the opposite of faith.

Faith is just a term we use to justify believing in something which cannot be justified by available evidence. There is nothing glorifying about it and it’s not a reliable method to reach the truth.

The scientific method is not perfect but it’s the best method we have of reaching the truth. We have used it to build medicine, technology and put man on the moon.

Dear vitamin c, what do you mean by atheism is not denial of God? What do you mean by word evidence? Where is that evidence going to come from and how it is going to come? Who is going to decide the nature of this evidence and how? How will that evidence prove or disprove existence of God?

Word faith also means trust or confidence in or reliance or dependence or resting or basing or founding oneself upon someone or something but how can one trust in someone or something without needed evidence which helps one rely or depend or rest upon someone or something?

Unless people start learning how to look at these things systematically or methodically or properly they cannot be reasonably sure about anything at all and that is why they cannot assure or reassure themselves about things. Evolution by chance or evolution by design is also a real issue for discussion. Before humans could figure out things they needed intelligence or faculty of discerning or ability or capability or capacity of making sense of things. Since intelligence requires a properly working circuit which could handle the software this is why hardware had to be there for it already. How did that precise hardware come about? When did it come about? Mind and body are two different things just like computer and its software. How did human brain come about and could a software work without brain or basic software that makes the hardware work at basic level? Learning things need capability within a system for self programming to begin with, so where did that software come from?

As we dig deeper and deeper into things, we see more and more evidence for a creator rather than no creator. We can clearly see coming about of things from things but by design and not by random chance otherwise we end up with infinite number of chances which lead us nowhere in the end other than in confusion and chaos or anarchy.

They only believe things when there is sufficient evidence to suggest those things are true.

This is common sense, I cant understand why this is always so difficult for you to understand... If someone comes to you and says he will double all your money if you give it to him, would you give him money just on faith or will you ask him for proof or evidence? Its common sense but religion makes people lose their common sense.

dear vitamin c, atheists are as bad as religious people. They are all alike ie believe what they like instead of searching out the real truth for themselves. In short atheists want religious people to prove things for them and the same is true about theists. No one has done any proper research on the quran for example. They simply quote each other for that purpose and try to prove or disproves things about the quran to each other that way. If you are in doubt check out debates between atheists and theists on the youtube etc. They all seem to be blind follower of certain ideas.

No one has done any proper research on the quran for example.

There is plenty of ongoing research on Quran both from Muslims and Non-Muslims you are just not aware of it. Especially in last few years we have made big breakthroughs in understanding the evolution and history of Quran and different versions of Quran. You are blinded by faith that’s why you can’t see any of this hard work and research.

How will that evidence prove or disprove existence of God?

We are not concerned with God because whether or not God exists has no affect on our life. Once it has a measurable effect, we will study the effects and see what is behind those effects. Until then there is no point talking about God.

No there has not been any worthwhile research on the quran by muslims or nonmuslims. Give me name of just one rational translation or interpretation of the quran by a msulim or a nonmuslim. Give me name of just one quran based dictionary in any language by a muslim or a nonmuslim? Give me name of just one proper historical record by a muslim or nonmuslim? No one can, because the quran and deen of islam have never been part of any discussion by anyone ever since the kingdom based upon guidance of had come to an end. Since then all discussions between muslims and nonmuslims have been about religion and secularism and nothing else.

As soon as the actual quran and deen of islam become focus of attention, we will all see how the quran and deen of islam will take over human hearts and minds. This is why people are being kept away from real message of the quran and deen of islam by way of various tricks and mechanisms by muslims as well as nonmuslims.

How foolish of you that you baselessly assume that existence and nonexistence of God has no effect on us. Why then are you always fighting against religions? Please put your money where your mouth is. Wrong beliefs and actions of people which people attribute to God have terrible consequences for them and right beliefs and actions of people which people could attribute to God they have no knowledge of them just as yet so we will have to wait till they come to know them and one day they will and we will see how God clears himself of all that nonsense people attribute to him.

Just as yet people have no idea even about the very basic things let alone knowing the quran and deen of silam.
