پاکستان کے سابق کرکٹر اور کپتان محمد حفیظ نے بابر اعظم کو عظیم کھلاڑی قرار دینے والوں کو جواب دیتے ہوئے کہا ہے کہ ایسے لوگوں نے شائد پاکستان یا دنیا کے عظیم کھلاڑی دیکھے نہیں ہیں۔

تفصیلات کے مطابق سرکاری اسپورٹس ٹی وی چینل پی ٹی وی اسپورٹس پر ورلڈ کپ کی خصوصی نشریات میں گفتگو کرتے ہوئے سابق کرکٹر محمد حفیظ نے کہا ہے کہ بطور کرکٹر بابراعظم برے کھلاڑی نہیں ہیں، اس وقت قومی کرکٹ ٹیم میں جتنے بھی کھلاڑی ہیں بابران سب سے اچھے کھلاڑی ہیں مگر ان کا موازنہ عظیم کھلاڑیوں سے کیا جانا درست نہیں ہے۔

انہوں نے کہا کہ میں ان لوگوں کے خلاف ہوں جو بابراعظم کو عظیم کھلاڑیوں سے ملاتے ہیں، یہ بابر کے ٹیلنٹ کے ساتھ زیادتی ہے، جو لوگ بابراعظم کو عظیم کھلاڑیوں سے ملاتے انہوں نے شائد دنیا یا پاکستان کے عظیم کھلاڑی دیکھے نہیں ہیں۔

محمد حفیظ نے کہا کہ بابراعظم سے جو امیدیں وابستہ کی گئیں یا ان کا موازنہ جیسے دیگر کھلاڑیوں کے ساتھ کیا گیا یہ بدقسمتی ہے، پچھلے تین سالوں میں بابراعظم کی کپتانی میں وہ بہتری اور میچورٹی نظر نہیں آئی جو آنی چاہیے تھی۔

پروفیسر کے لقب سے مشہور محمد حفیظ نے کہا کہ اب فیصلہ خود بابراعظم اور کرکٹ بورڈ نے کرنا ہے کہ بابراعظم کے پریشر کو دور کرکے ان کے ٹیلنٹ کو بچانا ہے یا اسی پریشر میں رہتے ہوئے بابرکے ٹیلنٹ کو اجاگر کیا جاسکتا ہے۔

All I will say is Baber performed well in some matches but without looking into the grades of those teams, some of our non-deserving portfolio holders in PCB just picked him, naming him the King "my foot" and pumped him and gave him every authority. Baber believed he should be treated like a king and he favored his friends and butter applicators in every match, regardless of their performance. This harmed Pakistan Cricket by excluding deserving players.
He is not at all a Captain product. If kept as a batsman, he may become beneficial. Certainly, we need real selectors, managers, coaches, and deserving captain who has proven against real matches, if we want to be respected in the world of cricket.

After dismal performance in the Asia cup as well the ongoing world cup I think the proper thing would be to for him to step down. I think Rizvan should be the Captain because of his fighting spirit and go getter attitude. On and pleaze get rid of Aloo Jr

Captaincy is all about decisions making during the matches. Team selections also part of the deal. Motivating players playing under him is the one thing, Captain should concentrate upon and get the best out of the players playing under him. Babar is dead as a stick, when it comes to the motivation of the players. Pakistan lost all the matches in the CWC 2023 due to lack of motivation and fight shown by the players. Take the example of two matches, where the fighting spirit was shown, Pak won 1 and narrowly lost the other 1. The target against SL of 344 was a steep one, but due to planning and more than that due to motivation and fight, the match was won with record chase.
Against SA , the match was narrowly lost, despite the fight back shown by Pakistan. Due to one reason, Pakistan like all other matches except against Afg, didn't play all allocated 50 overs. Had they done so, they could had extra 20/25 runs and definitely would have won the match.
In all other matches, Pak played with no desires and fight back thus lost miserably and shamefully.
IT is therefore, proven without shadow of a doubt, Babar is clueless when it comes to planning and execution and also motivations. IF all three necessary qualities are missing, his batting alone wouldn't save Pakistan, it had not been enough in the CWC 23. No more proofs needed, the taste is in the pudding. Compare his captaincy with Sharma, you can see the difference. India doesn't have excellent or superb great cricketers, except 2/3. But they plan and execute the plans superbly well against all team. Sharma is way better than Babar both as Captain and a player. He scored his runs with super fast speed, thus leaving enough balls for others to score quickly.
Compare that to scoring rate of Babar and Imam, and you could see why Pakistan never posted 300 batting first. While SA scored close to 400 twice. Even Australia scored 389 and only won by 6 runs. Why Pakistanis can't!!
Because they left too many balls without scoring and then they cannot speed up like other teams. You cannot win matches by scoring at 70/80 strike rate for majority of the match. Other teams would chase you up and defeat you. that's what had happened.
This is from someone who had played in teams with very high standards and produced very famous international cricketers.
