When Shehbaz Sharif seizes the power and becomes prime minister via PDM alliance in 2022, the first thing he does - he removes the officers in charge of his corruption investigation at FIA. When those who has had corruption cases pending against him, comes to power and then uses his authority to influence the investigation or prosecution of those cases, it clearly represents a conflict of interest and an abuse of power. This undermines the principles of justice and accountability. Such actions erode public trust in key institutions like the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). When the public perceives that the justice system can be manipulated by those in power, it undermines the rule of law and the legitimacy of these institutions. Why didn’t Pakistani courts intervened and opened at 12am midnight to stop him from changing that officer?
