Back in November, I moved to Karachi from Texas for a few months. And as a Texan, my taste buds were screaming for some authentic burritos. Shouldn't have been a biggie find a good burrito place in Karachi, right? WRONG! Everywhere I went, I was served with a variation/fusion of Parhata Rolls with bland chicken/veggies/beef fillings. Every time, I was left with an awful taste in my mouth and overpowering disappointment. I was so tired of trying mediocre quality burritos.Well, today, I was visiting my friend in DHA and we decided to eat out. Lo and behold, I saw a sign from afar -
BURRIDOS. Wait, what!? A burrito place. My mouth started salivating, so I decided to give this place a try.
Burridos is located on Bukhari Commercial, DHA Phase VI, Karachi, near all chai dhabas. I was incredulous at first, because the restaurant itself has such unique aesthetic - A dhaba style Mexican restaurant, a new concept to say the least. My stomach was growling and my mouth was drooling, I was ravenous and there were great smells around so I just ordered instantly.
To be blatantly honest with you guys, I didn't expect much out of this place, at first. But to my surprise, Iwas blown away. I'm jumping with excitement right now just by remembering that first minute, I gave in to try out this place and set out into the delectable valley of burrito paradise. Upon first taste, rising above time and space, delight and agony. I was met with the savoriest morsels of the juiciest beef, I've had in a long time. Succulent, soft, and delicately spiced. Burgerito, is a perfect blend of flavors and is a bliss for food lovers. Now let me decipher this delicious creation for you guys. The beef patty wrapped in a perfectly cooked tortilla was simply divine. To die for! It's suppleness and warmth was impeccably proportioned by the fresh, cool, modest piece of lettuce and creamy avocado. Astounding! After two or three bites, another layer of flavor started to emanate through the beefy morsel, and I realized it was the potato fries. Adequately layered from one end to the other, these crunchy little potato fries were truly delectable. The crispy fries infused with all the sauces and beef patty with cheese oozing out of it, was truly an explosion of aroma and seasoning inside my mouth. The tortilla itself was fresh and warm and I found it very flavorful. One bite is proportional to no less than six distinct flavors and food groups, with a rich meaty delight, topped with salsa, lettuce, beans, cheese, guacamole, and a dollop of sour cream.
Along with this scrumptious burrito, I got a side of perfectlycaramelized and tasty wings. So many folds of interlaced flavors occurring all at the same time. I will take whatever remains of the day to give this deliciousness to ferment and simmer down. Thank you Burridos, for the delectable experience.
