I have a question and I cannot find the answer on the internet.

Is there any law/restriction to bring in gold bars into Pakistan from UK. Around 20KG of silver bars, and 5Kg of gold Bars.

The gold will be in small bars like 5 gram 10 gram 15 gram 20 gram 30 gram 50 gram and 100grams, but all together they will weigh 5kg, and my Silver will all be in 100 gram, 250 gram, 500 gram and 1000 gram bars.

What would I need to do if I bought this into Pakistan, this will be my life savings, so I intend to keep it, and might sell a few to buy land e.t.c I do not want it to be confiscated.

I will have 5 people with me so we can share the weight of it in our bags.

Also what is the safest way? put it in our personal bags as I do not trust suitcases

Definitely carry them on you...Second, there should a limit to how much UK currency you can take with you...bars are cash equivalents, therefore the bars will be treated as cash....contact UK Immigration & I do not know about Pakistan side.

declare them in UK and as well in Pakistan you can be get robbed in pakistan(what history says) if it is white money no problem at all you can declare in Uk and get Brinks security to move it to air port if Pakistan also have brinks securities they can deliver it to you at your door step or at bank for safe deposit .but i don't understand why do you want it to bring it from UK because in UK it is not cheaper than Pakistan if it is not illegal then you must have paid 17%vat which you can claim back and get refunded at airport after producing purchased receipt to VAT refund counter at air port

I was born in England, but my parents are from Pakistan. So I do not think I can get the VAT back ,and my parents have been in England for 20+ years.

So who would I need to contact to say I am bringing in this much gold into Pakistan, and what about security? I want the gold on me at all times

I will also have the bars on me in my personal luggage, and split the weight between me and 4 other people as I do not trust putting it in a suitcase.

Also Gold is VAT FREE, but silver is 20%VAT. So I will have to pay VAT on both my Gold and Silver?

I also plan on staying in Pakistan for couple of years before returning to England, and leaving my gold and silver in Pakistan

I think there is 5% duty, and 17% sales tax ( i dont know if it is charged upfront.)

Gold silver Jewlery worn by females during transit is free of tax and duty.

Then its not feasible to bring it from UK without get refund of your VAT,,, in Pakistan its cheaper (provided you pay 17 VAT in UK ) then better book your ticket via Dubai by emirates air line and buy this stuff in Dubai, gold you can buy at air Port but not sure about silver bars available at air port or not ? that you can check with any of your friend or forum member who is residing in UAE but better you use BRINKS

You may get robbed as soon as you come out of the Air port, these people have touts working at the Air ports who will alert them. Don't be stupid, transfer cash instead and buy it in Pakistan but Don't keep it at home, you may get killed protecting it.

Something isn't right here, the guy is claiming that he was born in England and his parents have been living in england for 20 plus years so lets say this dude is 23 years old.
He claimed to have a life saving of 22,397,103.5 in pakistani rupees (136,567.704), so my question is how on earth he made that much money in such a small period of time. Hope its all legit as he will have to prove it at the airport in the uk and surly they will check his tax records.
My humble advice to u is to find all the receipt and contact HMRC and see if everything adds up before u think of leaving engalnd.
By the way VAT is not 17 % its 20 %.

If you’re bringing 5kg of gold and 20kg of silver from the UK to Pakistan, it’s legal but you must declare it at customs on arrival. Keep all purchase receipts to prove it's your life savings. Carrying it in hand luggage is safer, just make sure it’s well-packed and doesn’t raise suspicion. Transparency is key to avoid any issues.
