NEWS DESK: Amir Khan’s wife Faryal Makhdoom flashed her baby scan as she left the hospital alone on Friday – just a week after her boxer husband vowed to go ahead with their divorce, reported The Sun.
The 26-year-old said last week she wanted to get back together for the sake of their unborn child and apologised to her in-laws for their bitter war of words.
But boxing champ Amir Khan delivered a knockout blow just hours later when he shattered his estranged wife’s dream of saving their marriage.
He tweeted: “Unfortunately it didn’t work out between Me and Faryal and we are still going ahead with the divorce. We are in good talking terms.
“We have to think about our daughter Lamaisah who I will always be there for. I wish Faryal all the very best for the future.”
Faryal was pictured leaving The Wilmslow Hospital in Manchester today – with no sign of her baby’s father.
Wearing oversized sunglasses, ripped jeans and a Kanye West Yeezus hoodie from Glastonbury 2015, the sporting superstar’s ex failed to raise a smile as she walked to her car.
She clutched her purse and keys as she spoke on the phone in the private hospital’s car park.
Faryal revealed she was pregnant weeks after a bitter public split from the boxer.
The pair exchanged a war of words on social media, when Khan accused his wife of cheating on him with fellow boxing star Anthony Joshua.
But just weeks later, the model said made the announcement on Twitter, writing: “Alhumdulilah , blessed with baby number 2 in my tummy #excited eating away, can’t stop”.
She also shared her happy news with her followers on Snapchat, with a blank image and a caption saying: “I’ve been waiting to announce something very special …. Alhumdulilah, I am pregnant with my second child.
“Time for me to get fat and chunkayyyy”.
Earlier today, Faryal posted a video of the couple’s three-year-old daughter Lamaisah touching her own stomach as she asks her: “You have a baby in your tummy?” before the little girl replies: “Yeah, mummy’s tummy.”
Faryal and Amir publicly split following a Twitter spat earlier this month, in which Khan claimed his wife had cheated on him with fellow boxing star Anthony Joshua.
Reacting to Faryal’s bombshell news, one of her followers asked: “Does Amir know?” while another said: “Plot twist.”
One Twitter wag joked: “Congratulations @anthonyfjoshua” and another tagged both Khan and Joshua as he quizzed: “Congrats, who’s the dad?”
Faryal revealed her pregnancy hours after a sly dig on Twitter at her estranged husband as she praised Conor McGregor for his devotion to his partner.
Amir, who is yet to respond to the news, is in Las Vegas where McGregor will fight Floyd Mayweather in the richest boxing match in history tonight.
Her announcement came after the couple, who married in 2013, turned to a spiritual leader in a bid to save their marriage.
