Ijazul Haq also turned out to be a shameless character and a thief.

Despite differences, used to have some respect for Ijazul Haq. However, he has lost any respect whatsoever he used to have by stealing a clearly lost seat.

In fact, he was a distant 3rd based on form-45 but declared a winner as he is the son of Gen. Zia and being quite close to the establishment.

In my humble opinion, despite the fact that all Fauji dictators were bad, but the worst of all was Zia. The way he destroyed our social fabric is beyond repair and might even need another century or so to get it back where it was in Bhutto era. The way arts, liberal thinking, culture and religious harmony was destroyed, seems like not coming in next 100 years.
I said it a thousand times here on this forum in the last one decade and a half, but repeat it again that "we might be 5/10 years behind west in technology sciences (in some cases we might even be better in technology) but we are at least 500 years behind in social and political sciences" and one main reason for that has been our FOUJ and dictators, specially Zia.
