Plunderers days numbered, says Imran
LODHRAN/PAKPATTAN - The 11th May of this year will be the day of celebrations and the nation will get rid of corrupt and incompetent leaders through their vote to ensure justice, peace, progress and prosperity in the country.
This was stated by PTI Chairman Imran Khan at a public meeting in Lodhran on Thursday evening. He said the plunderers had befooled the nation, but now their days were numbered and PTI would come up to the expectations of the people for better and peaceful living as well as strong Pakistan
He said PTI was committed to bringing revolutionary changes in the society to ensure a peaceful, strong and stable Pakistan. In the past, all the rulers used their office for personal gains and did nothing for the welfare of the people and progress of the country except making tall and false claims. Both the major parties, PPP and PML-N, looted the national wealth and befooled the masses with hollow slogans, but their game is over and I will bowl out Asif Zardari and Nawaz Sharif with a single delivery, the PTI chairman said.
Imran Khan announced if the PTI was voted to power, he would surely free the country from the slavery of the US, restore the nations dignity and make policies in the national interest. He said: We will protect the rights of women and provide to them every facility because they are the major force of our homes and can bring revolution through better education of the new generation and their children.
He held that agriculture was the backbone of the economy and we will fully protect the rights of the growers to improve their financial and social conditions by providing them with maximum facilities for the uplift of the agriculture sector. He was of the view that teachers and judges would be given their due status and respect as without their respect no nation could achieve success, progress and justice.
Imran Khan vowed to reform the local bodies system which would be free from corruption and people would be free to run their affairs independently as there would be no development funds for parliamentarians. Moreover, the local administration would be deputed according to the public demand and not on the orders of MNAs/MPAs or ministers. He also vowed to root out politics of thana as it would be the first step towards new Pakistan where justice, peace, progress and prosperity would prevail without any discrimination.
Imran Khan said they would focus on improving health and education sectors and funds for this purpose would be utilised through local municipal system.
He said Nawaz Sharif was a coward person who could not follow principles. He added Shahbaz Sharif could hold public meetings only through revenue staff, especially patwaris. He is only Showbaz and not Shahbaz.
He challenged the PML-N leaders to come on TV for a debate as it was a normal practice all over the world to discuss issues in debates prior to polls. He questioned why Sharif brothers were not accepting his challenge. He was of the view that fake and false surveys by PML-N would deliver nothing as the nation had shown complete confidence in the PTI for change in the country.
Addressing a public meeting in Pakpattan on Thursday, PTI Chief Imran Khan said PML-N supported the PPP government during the last five years. He vowed to hunt tiger in the general elections. He claimed several political parties wanted to forge alliance with Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf, but neither he nor any of his party leaders would forge an alliance with any party as PTI was in alliance with the people of Pakistan. Even PML-N wanted to ally with PTI, but he had decided, in principle, not to join hands with the parties which were responsible for creating problems.
Imran alleged Punjab was facing a miserable situation on every front because former provincial chief minister Shahbaz Sharif kept with him the funds of various departments, which came into the provincial pool after the 18th Amendment and gave the same as political bribes to the parliamentarians. Saying that local government was the best system to address the problems of the masses at their doorsteps, he promised to conduct the local bodies polls within 90 days of his coming to power.
He accused both PPP and PML-N of fooling the masses during their governments at Centre and in the province, saying the top leaderships of both the parties protected each others crimes.
He questioned what kind of democracy this was in which a large number of law enforcers were deputed for the protocol of kings of PML-N and PPP and their offspring instead of protecting the common man.
Imran said both parties grabbed power five times in Sindh and Punjab, but they did nothing for the masses. He questioned why the people should vote for them for yet another time. He expressed the hope that people of Pakistan would vote for change in the general elections.
A large number of people were brought by the candidates from far-flung areas. Imran said new generation was an asset to PTI, adding they would be provided jobs without any discrimination. He also pledged better health facilities for the masses.
Khan said a new Pakistan would be created on May 11 to rid the people of joblessness, hunger and loadshedding. He said the Punjab governments performance was no secret as it destroyed various institutions. He said green passport would be a symbol of dignity in the world.
On this occassion, Rao Naseem Hashim Khan, Ahmed Raza Manika, Mian Amjad joiya and other PTI leaders were present.
