Islam is deen=divine constitution not mazhab. learn what a constitution is and what it is for. The ignorant people have totally destroyed the sense of islam and its purpose.

If you do not know what a constitution is or what it is for then knowing arabic and reading quran will not help you. many arabs read quran daily day and night ask them if they ever thought about it.

All mullahs know arabic but have no sense to understand the quran. So learn things and then read the quran and see the difference it makes.

I agree with you that Islam is Deen and not a Mazhab. The basic source of Deen is Quran and Sunnah. You can’t build a complete Islamic System on Quran alone. Quran is a sort of telegraphic message and sunnah is it’s practical and living explanation. Now, if someone claims something and associate it with Islam, it is our right to ask for proof from Quran and/or Sunnah.
You can eat biryani, drive a car or jet or do any other thing allowed by sharia, but the problem rises when you practice something at the name of Islam for which there is no sound proof from Quran and/or Sunnah. Now the choice is yours you call us Mullah, molvi, najadi or anything, it doesn’t matter.

Thank you dear moahhid, for your kind response. the problem I have is that people are always discussing mazhabi masaail rather than learning the deen. The mullahs quoted and supported have no idea what islam is all about. Islam is deen as you agree and yes the quran is primary and sunnah is secondary source of islam. But the main context of the quran is deen not mazhab and that is how the quran and sunnah need to be interpreted. It is misinterpretation and misrepresentation of islam to to turn it in to mazhab.

The ummah has no idea what deen really means and we are all wasting time in discussing things that if at all are islamic have least importance.

I rather spend time in learning about the quran as to where the quran says it is deen and what does it mean by deen=constitution, ideology, system, structure or practice regarding human society.

If islam is deen then it is important for us to know where in the quran is guidance about politics eg poltical ideology, political setup, political structuring, political system, political pratice etc etc.

We cannot claim islam is deen if it contain nothing relating constitution, can we? If it is constitution then why do we waste time on halwa whether it is cooked on friday or monday?

This shows that our mullahs are either ignorant as to what is in the quran or they have deliberately masked the information by misinterpreting and misrepresenting the quranic terms used for this reason.

This means if our mullahs are ignorant then we should not follow them instead if we know better then they should follow us and if they have deliberately misled us then they deserve our kicks where it hurts for making fools of us.

By mullahs I mean organised gangsters who do not let anyone speak up against whatever nonsense they dictate in the name of islam.

It is because due to these thugs ummah is in state of affairs that it is. All because they have been misleading people in to dark ally to use and abuse them for so long.

By mullahs I do not mean ulema of islam who want people to learn islam and question it to their heart content and who encourage knowledge based acceptance of islam. They are at pains for the ummah and humanity in general.

Islam is still around in form of deen because of odd individual efforts not due to mullahs bgecause mullahs have been using it as a tool against the ummah rather than for its benenfits.

And, here we are in the 21st century - around 1400 years after the beautiful deen was brought to us to better ourselves as humans and for us to know and get closer to the Almighty - discussing the most pressing and crucial issue that faces the mankind in general and the ummah in particular - what to cook on the 10 of muharram. hear hear - i couldnt have said it better - though I would say that there are some true scholars who prod and point us to the real burning questions that need answers instead of these trivial and petty matters. But they are of course few and far between.

Another tendency is to discredit the argument you make by viewing it from the narrow sectarian perspective - where people belonging to a certain sect or group would claim that the clueless mullahs that you point to below belong to them rather to other deviant sects and ALL their mullahs are true scholars and we have to take them seriously.
