i don't understand this guy, he converted and became muslim in the mid 90s and now he tells everyone about islam? I have been muslim long before he has and i think i know much more then him. Why is he allowed to speak on islamic forums???

It is not a matter of, that how long ago he converted and become muslim, its a matter of knowledge, and how some one can convey his message properly. He has a good knowledge of Islam. I think every one is allow to speak on islam, as far as they have knowledge, they are not promothing some kind of shirk or not adding somthing in Isalm like BIDAT....People convert, and become muslim after listining him.

Thank Allah for being born in a Muslim home....but being a muslim for more longer is not the criteria for effectively passing the message of Islam - the greatest religion in the Universe. Also what makes you think you know more than him? Also you are more than welcome to share your knowledge of Islam and speak on Islamic forums.... Just make sure you are equipped with solid knowledge of the subject and the ability to provide satisfactory answers and explanations to others. I hope you are up to the task. May Allah give us all Hidayat and may we all learn to show proper respect to the great scholars of Islam.

Junoon123, You are right he is new convert. I have been watching his videos and personally attended his speech in Canada. He is doing great job to serve Islam. We should appreciate his efforts. Did you find anything in his speech offending you?
He is new Muslim but he is far better than us born Muslims who follow fake scholar, who spend whole of thier lives, convincing their followers all SHIRKIA acts such as Qabar Parasti, spend all their energies convincing followers that dancing is part of religion and Music is not haram in Islam.
Yusuf Estes is million times better than our born Muslim so-called scholars who feel proud to have their feet kissed by their mureeds, and we called them Sheikh ul Islam.

One should attach himself/herself more with Allah than attaching with a scholar.
He is allowed to speak because he can do the Dawah and spread the message of Islam in a lot better manner specially in English Language. If he was a no-brainer, nobody would invite him to speak on these forums.
BTW muslim kids in west love him and his style of teaching about Islam.

Allah (SWT) gives guidance according to the sincerity of the person. All the reverts are much better and practicing Momneen. Their faith is much stronger than the people like us. The crowning trait of them is that they are Muslim by choice not like us who are by inheritance.

Brothers & sisters & specillay to faiza.. Please note that he is no ISLAMIC SCHOLAR, he is DAEE.. That is who gives DAWAH..
As he has prev experience of Christian Pastor or Preacher, thats why he have indept knowledge of BIBLE & now as he is learning he has knowledge of Quran.
Any one can be DAEE, reverts or inherited muslims, as DAEE is not expert in SHARIA LAWS, he gets basic or expert knowledge for spreading of DAWAH of ISLAM, QURAN & ALLAH..
If you watch his lectures specially Q&A session, you will notice that he doesnot reply to critical sensitive questions depending on Fiqah or MASSAEL. He only answers basic questions or those he know from authentic ulemas.. So my point is dont criticize until you see that any person or this person is spreading something which is against the ISLAM, QURAN, SUNNAH etc..
I hope you got my point... to other brothers & sisters, please dont scold sister faiza, as she might not have to correct information regarding brother Yousuf Estes.. Yes it is right as one brother rightly said that newly converts or reverts are far more steadfast when it matters to praticing Islam, as they know why they have reverted/converted to truth & haq.. Otherwise I & like me many take ISLAM as granted & normal thing, not bothering about our duty in this world as UMMAH OF HAZRAT MUHAMMAD PBUH, it is our duty to spread DAWAH of ISLAM to muslims & non muslims alike. So that many disbelievers or sleeping muslims can be saved from HELL FIRE..

Islam is a great deen, where no one is superior than other, the day he become muslim, or indeed as said that all children born muslim, it is there parents who make them jews or nasara, and take them away from right path, but once he or she is on right path , then only Taqwa decides who is better.

I still don’t understand, Why we need to screen some one to this extend, that if he is expert in SHARIA LAWS or not. If we believe that we are just a normal human beings, and like any other area of life where one is expert in medical field, one is better in making houses, is short some one is good with numbers and other can be better with verbal communication, and we get benefits from them according to their skills....ISLAM is not a small subject, its a way of living, Why we expect from one ALIM, that he should be expert in every thing....Again as I said before as far as he is not harming Muslims in any way, He is not teaching SHIRK or BIDAT....I believe wisdom is not something which any one can bye so we always have to look for the better deal...We can get wisdom, knowledge, from any one , any where, any time, only be the blessing of ALLAH....

Yes you are absolutely right that we have to get wisdom from others even from those who are younger than us. Point is that we are not asking FATWAS from them, but they give us fresh air in these times of desperation & hostility. I interact with my colleagues, freinds, customers & passersby 90% of our muslim brothers (i dont know about sisters but get nearly same response through my sisters & mother) that they dont know their duty. WHY THEY ARE UMMAH OF HAZRAT MUHAMMAD PBUH, WHY THERE WILL BE NO PROPHET/NABI/RASOOL AFTER HAZRAT MUHAMMAD PBUH IN THIS UMMAH NOW TILL LAST DAY.. If ALLAH have to spread ISLAM & HIS orders in whole world this is no problem for HIM, the only thing HE has to do is show himself to all humanbeing & tell them to worship HIM alone, thats it.. So it is our duty to first accept ISLAM & ALLAH/RASOOL orders, then practice it, lastly inform others either they are muslims or non muslims, to follow ISLAM..
This guy is not expert, i accept it, but the way he is explaining ISLAM, ALLAH & Prophet is guidance for us to follow same or even better to our muslim brothers & sisters & to non muslims..

I am not dellusional and not making a point on whose a better muslim, i have seen much much better muslims then me and i wonder how i can better myself. The question i pointed was that people listen to him because he's a gora and thats it.
