Nawaz elected PML-N president "unopposed"

Nawaz Sharif has been elected party president unopposed at Central Working Committees meeting.

Raja Zafarul Haq has been elected chairman while Makhdoom Javed Hashmi senior vice president of the party. Ballot papers were printed for top 7 slots including of PML-N president.

Addressing the participants, Nawaz later dilated on his previous tenures as prime minister and counted the achievements of his governments. The issues dilated on ranged from nuclear tests to economy and relations with the arch rival India. He said he would have made Pakistan Asian tiger had his governments not been toppled.

Sartaj Aziz has been elected General Secretary and Mushahid-ulallah Khan Information Secretary of the party.

ISLAMABAD: Nawaz Sharif was elected unopposed president of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Head of Party’s Election Committee, Iqbal Zafar Jhagra announced it at Party’s General Council meeting held here at Convention Centre on Wednesday.



Outgoing Acting PML-N President, Javed Hashmi had proposed the name of Nawaz Sharif while Party Chairman, Raja Zafar-ul- Haq supported the nomination.


Jhagra informed the General Council that no other candidate filed the papers for the slot of party President.
He said that according to elections result, Javed Hashmi, Sartaj Aziz, Sardar Yaqoob Nasir, Raja Farooq Haider and Syed Ghous Ali Shah have also been elected Senior Vice Presidents.


Ahsan Iqbal and Mushahid Ullah Khan were elected as Party’s Deputy Secretary General and Secretary Information respectively.


All the new office bearers were elected unopposed as a consensus was already developed by the party’s leadership regarding the reorganization of party.


The General Council of PML-N also approved the amendments in the Party Constitutions. Chief Minister Punjab, Mian Shahbaz Sharif, Party’s Members of National and Provincial Assemblies, more than 1,500 members of PML-N General Council from Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhah, Balochistan, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and Islamabad attended the meeting.

Democracy loving party PMLN will always be a family party whose chairman will be a 'Sharif', either Nawaz Sharif, Shehbaz Sharif, Hamza Sharif or any other son of Sharifs.
They love democracy so much that they never opened their mouth on the fake 2008 elections and the 45% fake votes even after 4 months of ECP accepting this fact, they never demanded new elections after this news because they love their Punjab government more than democracy and they are too scared to contest elections without fake votes.

its pakistan, all work the same way .

Look at all political parties except Jamat-e-Islami , what happen?

Tahreek-insaaf will always elect IMRAN KHAN as their president, no one else you will see .
PPPP will have any bhutto related figure as leader always.
ANP will have Bacha khan's family as leader always.
I dont know what will happen of MQM if Altaf dies....

Iss hammam main sab nungay hain.

Very well said !!!! The point is why this drama now? We are criticizing PML(N) today's drama cause it was produced and directed by Nawaz Sharif. I will be the first one to criticize PTI if they follow the suit. Unopposed election of main leader is not new to politics but the whole leadership unopposed????
