Simple Disscussion Re. Good Luck

A Palestinian friend of mine runs a auto repair business in Brampton he has been my mechanic for many years. In his office hangs a piece of rug about 4tf by 3ft with a verse written on it. One day I asked him as to "what it meant" after carefully thinking he told me that "its written in a difficult language and he did not know what it meant and he will ask one of his friends who know what it meant and then tell me" I was a bit surprise that being proficient in Arabic language he did not understand what it meant.

That Rug hanged in his office for as long as I can remember. I asked him why did you hang this rug in the office without knowing its meaning he said " FOR GOOD LUCK"

Is there such a thing as good luck or such a display brings gook luck or knowing and understanding brings prosperity.

A Good question?

FYI

Quran Arabic is entirely different then regular Arabic, and its no wonder, if your mechanic couldn't translate to you, Arabs have to learn Tajweed and Tafseer with word to word meaning, So next time time don't be surprise if you see, such kind of response from any Arab.

Keeping Quranic verse at workplace, should be very well understood and in majority, every Muslim knows very well, what they are keeping more than GOOD LUCK.

NEITHER

I dont understand why he could not tell you what the arabic scripture meant. Of all the Palestanian brothers I have known, had no problem explaining any ayah to me.

One would guess that he is NOT educated ain arabic at all OR he just didnt bother translated to you.

Its also remotely possible that he is from Palestine but not a muslim. There are Christain and Jews and palestine too.

I knew a man from Lahore with name Muhammad Jan. I came across him at breakfast in a restaurant where he ordered breakfast with pork sausage, and beef stake. As I was about to puke, I decided toremind him that khinzeer is haram for Muslims, so I whispered to him.

He smiled and whispered back 'Oh I know you dont eat pork, but I am not a Muslim'

My cusriosity was heightened and asked what he was then and what about the Muslim name

He simply said: I am a Christain from Karachi, born in Lahore to a Christain parent. My parents gave me this name becasue they believed that 'Muhammad' will bring me lots of good luck and it has. I am well off with good job, family and friends. I am thankful to my parents.

So obviously I had to ask why he did not consider returning to Islam (all children are born Muslim) he replied with a smile: Oh, I love my sausages, cant give that up

we were good friends util I moved out of toronto
