16 May 20Isra and Miraj
Please remember that interpreting everything with science can be dangerous as science is an evolving knowledge approving itself one day and disapproving the following day or decade. Since it relates to human mind and intelligence, it has its limitations and could never be considered as a final verdict on any subject. It could happen that the knowledge which is proven to be true today might turn out wrong tomorrow and it happens so frequently. Medical science tells us that something is good us but one week and dangerous to use in few weeks time. Therefore, instead of proving something on the basis of science is dangerous as in the future if they would change their mind then would be rethinking our approach to interpret Miraj. We should take it as a mojeza (miracle) and mojeza is such a thing which can't be ascertained by the human aqal Intelligence). That's why it is called as mojeza that human wisdom is aajiz (incapable) to think about that.Better to believe in the things without looking for any scientific evidence. Though science makes a thing logical and comprehensible but often it makes terrible mistakes and errs as well.
Why not to say that I believe in Miraj because the Prophet (SallAllahu aleyhe wasallam) said so and I believe in him fully? The Quran verifies and certifies and there is no further question to be asked by the adherents of Islam. We should think like Sayyadena Abu Bakar(Radhi Allah Unho) who was called 'Siddique' when he confirmed that if He (SallAllahu Aleyhe wasallam) has said so then I believe in Him Only.
To write scientific explanation on the Event of Miraj isa difficult and a complicated task due to its miraculous aspect. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is our beloved Holy Prophet and a beloved of Allah. Therefore, before writing anything about the Holy Prophet Muhammad(peace be upon him), we must keep in mind the high rank dignity and glory of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). We must consider the highly praising about his (peace be upon him) sacred personality as described in the Holy Qur'an and Islamic books. If I make any mistake, fluctuate or If I fail to describe the Event of Miraj in best possible required manner then may Allah forgive me, and give me the true and right knowledge, by which I can write the entire contents of the Event of Miraj in the most suitable and respectful words.
How could it waspossible for Muhammad to travel the entire universe in a very short duration oftime?
Since theSpecial Theory of Relativity has a variety of surprising consequences thatseems to violate common sense. A very common question regarding the Special Theory of Relativity that appears in the mind of students is written below. How we will verify the consequences of Einstein’s Special Theory of Relativity, if no body can travels with the speed of light?
The most important question regarding the Event of Miraj, which was under debate is that Muhammad (SAWW) travelled the entire universe and when he returned back to the room from where he started the journey of Miraj, the chain of the door was still at the same position where it was oscillating previously. It was impossible to understand that he travelled the entire universe but on the earth very short duration of time passed or time stopped. My little intelligence tells me that our beloved Prophet Mohammed (SAWW) ascent to the farthest reaches of heavens was much faster than the speed of light as the Physics stells us today but his decent back to earth would have been even much faster.
According to Special Theory of Relativity if a body travels with the velocity of light then Time Dilation and Relativity of Simultaneity occurs. Prophet Muhammad (SAWW) was riding on the Buraq, and the speed (velocity) of the Buraq was similar or more than the speed (velocity) of light. Therefore, now we can easily understand that Time Dilation and Relativity of Simultaneity occurred during the Event of Miraj. Therefore, time seemed to be stop or a very short duration of time passed. The comoving distance from the earth to the edge of the visible universe is about 46.5billion light-years in any direction, which is called visible universe. It is sometimes quoted as a diameter of 92.94 billion light-years. Light travels 9.46trillion kilometres in a year. It means that if light travels continuously the it will reach to the edge of visible universe in 46.5 billion years and the exact universe is far bigger than visible universe about which scientists are yet unaware. Furthermore, velocity of light is 3 x 10[SUP]8[/SUP] m/s. It is yet the fastest possible velocity of anything. Now the second question is that to travel such a huge distance billions years are required so,how did Muhammad travelled such a huge distance in a very short duration of time?
The Buraq(Arabic: البُراقal-buraaq, meaning lightning, also means the element boron; Turkish: Burak), is according to Islamic tradition a creature from the heavens that carried Muhammad (SAWW) from earth to heaven and back during the Isra and Miraj (Night Journey). An excerpt from a Sahih Muslim hadith describes a buraq:
“I was brought by the Buraq, which is an animal white and long, larger than a donkey but smaller than a mule, who would place its hoof at a distance equal to the range of vision.”
"O' mankind, there has to come to you instruction from your Lord and healing for what is in the breasts and guidance and mercy for the believers."
The Event of Miraj (ascension of the Holy Prophet to the heaven) is a miracle of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).During the journey of Miraj, he (peace be upon him) travelled the entire universe, he (peace be upon him) met to the glorious Allah, and he (peace be upon him) also observed to the heaven and the hell, he (peace be upon him) also met to all the Holy Prophets and all the Holy Messengers. Non-Muslims disbelieved and disagreed on the fact of Event of Miraj. Many times non-Muslims raised a question that how could it was possible for the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to travel entire universe in a very short duration of time?In that era when this event occurred, it was very difficult to understand it,or to convince non-Muslims. Now today it is possible to prove the fact of the Event of Miraj in the light of Modern Physics and universally accepted Special Theory of Relativity.
The Special Theory of Relativity was proposed by Albert Einstein in 1905 but is still a theory and under intense scrutiny as man made objects are travelling deeper and much further into space than ever imagined before. This theory has a variety of surprising consequences that are unacceptable by human intellect and seem to confuse even logical mind. When this theory was proposed and propounded, it was so difficult for a common person to understand it because there was no observatory evidence or proof. The Event of Miraj and the journey into infinity became an observatory for the physicists, mathematicians and cosmologists. The Event of Miraj occurred in 622 A.D and Albert Einstein proposed his theory in 1905. He was a Jew and well versed in other scriptures and it is possible that Einstein got his idea about Special Theory of Relativity studying Sura Israel from the Quran. After the Special Theory of Relativity, Albert Einstein deeply researched 12 years and finally Albert Einstein believe that proposed the General Theory of Relativity, which is considered to be the greatest theory of all times yet.
"Glory to (Allah) Who did take His servant (Mohammad)for a journey by night from the Masjid Al- Haram to Masjid- Al-Aqsa, whose Precincts we did bless in order that We might show him some of our signs: for Heis the One Who heareth and seeth (all things)."
It is narrated that Prophet Mohammed (SAWW) told his foster-sister Hind bint Abd al-Mutalib: "I was with you last night and I performed the night prayers in this valley, then I went to Beit al-Maqddis where I performed a prayer and here I am performing the morning prayers with you. But when Hind urged him not to tell anybody about it for they would not believe him, he swore by Allah that he was going to do just that. Allah, the most Exalted tells us that the aim of the night journey was to "show him some of Our signs"and the aim of the ascendance to see "some of his Lord's greatest signs", thus proving what we claimed that it was a sacred journey through the universe. The night journey is also a symbolic act to underscore the unity of the Muslim lands and the ties that bond between the Kaaba and the Aqsa Mosque.
