Israel 40% population is secular. Scientists from Israel and Jewish scientists in Newyork have had a much greater impact on science and technology in last 100 years than the whole history of Arab countries combined. They translate more books into Hebrew every year than the Arabs have in the last 100 years. There is only one Nobel prize winner in Physics in Muslim world and he is from Pakistan and people desecrated his grave just because of their religious belief. What a disgrace this nation has become. People like to blame Nawaz and Zardari but you know what, leaders come from the people. No one likes to blame or change themselves but they want the country and leaders to change.
Even during the so called 'Golden Age' of Islam, atheists, non-believers, people of different sects/religions were protected in Baghdad and Basra and allowed to do their work in science and technology so they can make the latest weapons and tactics and Muslims defeat the Christians one after another. Today its the complete opposite, people are lynched, silenced and have their graves defaced if they have a different opinion/belief. There are dumb people even on this forum that say there is no discrimination or intolerance in Pakistan. This is intolerance is a huge brain drain on Pakistan.

Arabs don't know how to fight for Sh*t. They had superior weapons than Israel until 1980's. Israel had obsolete French and british systems. US didn't start giving aid to Israel until the 70s but the Arabs recieved billions in weapons from Soviets before that. In the 1973 war Sadaat was taking a p*ss every 15 minutes, he would wake up the Soviets in the middle of the night because of his panic attacks. One Druze general in Syria had a heart attack before a battle in the Golan and had to be replaced. These Arabs do not have the heart for a fight and Syrians and Egyptians are supposed to be the most hardy Arabs.
Arabs aside this is my opinion on Israel. Its a small country with limited resources, if you do not include the Negev desert then it is roughly the size of Karachi in area and half the size of Karachi in population. A Turkish admiral once told me that it takes 4 minutes to fly a jet from the Jordan river to the Mediterranean sea. Since its such a small country they rely on quick and fast wars and then wait for the US to apply pressure and end the war. Israel cannot last in a war of attrition like the Iran-Iraq war. They put up a big show but its an empty shell. Their weakness make then oppressive against the Palestinians. With the US blunder in Iraq and ISIS they created a vacuum that was filled by Iran. Now Iran literally shares a border with Israel through Iraq, Syria and Lebonan. Israel keeps attacking Hezbollah and Iranian bases in Syria but If Syria and Iran decide retaliate and to go into a war of attrition with Israel that lasts more than a few months with political support from the Muslim world, that will be the end of Israel.

A small densely populated area is difficult to conquer than a sparsely populated vast lands and if the entire population of such small land is trained in warfare and have scientific acumen than virtually impossible plus Israeli terrain is of deep valleys and mountains.
Israel survived a year long war at her birth with just half a million European Jews who could easily fled to Europe or America. Now 50% Israeli are the descendants of Jews from Muslim countries and most Ashkenazi Jews are born Israelis with their own Hebrew language and Israeli culture. 7 million Jewish Israelis means 1 million Army and when there is a fear of extermination every last man fights to last breath.
Israeli Iron dome and David sling have virtually turned enemy missiles and fighter jets useless. Any war of attrition means Israel will expand herself to enemy territory than to fight it on its own boarders. It has done it against PLO in Lebanon during 80's . Plus I do not think a nuclear power will go down alone.

Iran is at a full blown proxy war with Israel right now. Hezbollah is directly supported by Iran and with Iran's support they defeated Israel in 2006. Just last week Israeli jets bombed an Iranian base near Damascus. Mosad has also assassinated top Iranian nuclear scientists.
Iran is also at a proxy war with Israel's biggest ally in Middle East, Saudi Arabia. Via the Houthi Rebels, Iran is trying to surround Israel-Saudi from the North and South.
As for Greater Iran, I do not think there is such a concept. Iran's borders haven't changed much in the last 500 years, this is because Iran is surrounded by mountain ranges on 3 sides and the arabian sea on one side. These mountains are called the walls or Iran, making Iran like a castle. Also these mountains are inhabited by minorities like Kurds, Balochis and Azerbaijanis (many of whom want independence from Iran) who are Sunni not Shia. 50% of Iran population is non-Persian. So Iran is already a greater Iran. Lessons from the Iran-Iraq war: Its impossible to invade Iran because of the mountains, it is impossible for Iran to attack from its borders because of the mountains. Hope this makes it clearer.

In the 1948 war, the objective of Arab armies was not united, and no one cared about the Palestinians, every Arab country had its own objective which conflicted with the other Arab countries. Egypt wanted to occupy Gaza and Negev desert because they think its part of Sinai peninsula. Jordanians wanted to take over Palestine because they believed that Palestine is not a country its a part of Jordan and Palestinian are Jordanian by ethnicity. Syria wanted to take over not only Palestine but also Jordan and Lebanon because they believed that the whole Levant region belongs to Damascus. So the Arab armies often skirmished each other. If the Arabs wanted to create a Palestinian state then they had West Bank and Gaza for 20 years since 1947 to 1967.

Unlike 1948 many Israeli's today live there not because of zionist ideology but because rich donors in the US subsidize education, housing and healthcare for Jews to move there to the point that they can have a better life there than in New-York.
Now with 8 million people Israel is getting seriously over-populated and their government is struggling to support them, I had an ex of 3 years who was from Haifa and she said that even the private schools are getting over-crowded and hospitals at over 100% occupancy, they are running out of land and resources. They want the Palestinian lands and resources but they do not want the Palestinian people. I like their liberal policies but to be honest it is not a normal country and it will never be and if my mother was a Jew I would never let her live Haifa as it does not have a stable future.

It is impossible to digest that 70 years of Zionist brain washing has no impact on Israeli young generation. Most New York Jews move not to Tel Aviv or Haifa but to Jerusalem and West bank . Current Zionism is not of Secular nature but religious one.
You forgot an other fact till 1995 Israel was a poor country still Jews did not leave it for rich West. Israeli economy only boomed in last two decades.
I again say in current high tech wars vast lands are not a reliable resource. Small areas can better be defended against Missiles and Air raids than big expense.
