Malik holds master's degrees in both International Management from the Heidelberg campus of Schiller International University and Computer Science from Quaid-i-Azam University. He obtained his bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Statistics from University of Punjab. He was trained at the Harvard Kennedy School[6] and received a diploma in project management from Stanford University.

Career

He has previously served as a Senior Consultant Information Systems at Bahrain Technical Institute in Bahrain, Deputy Chief Information Officer in Wayne County, Michigan, Deputy Chairman/Head of Technology from 2008 to 2012 at NADRA, Chairman NADRA from 2012 to 2014, Senior Industry Consultant Government Systems from May 2014 - February 2016, Senior Technical Consultant at the World Bank from March 2016 - Feb 2017, Chief Technical Advisor at the United Nations Development Program January 2017 - August 2021, and Chairman NADRA from June 2021 to June 2023.[7][8]

His name was included in the World's 100 Most Influential People in 'Digital Government' by a European think tank known as "Apolitical".[9] He was also named among the Top 100 Digital Influencers in the 'Digital Community' by One World Identity, a New York-based independent identity research and strategy think tank focused on cyber security, digital commerce and risk management.[10] Before joining the World Bank, Malik helped governments to optimize use of Big Data and advanced data analytics from the platform of Teradata Inc. USA.

Lt. General Munir Afsar

Education

He has an MPhil in public policy and national security management. He compiled a research paper on public policy response in the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Department during the 2010 floods.

He did his MS in National Resource Strategy (C&IT Industry and Supply Chain Management) from the National Defense University in Washington DC. Currently, he is a candidate for PhD in remote sensing at the National University of Sciences and Technology in Islamabad and his research paper is on the detection of plant diseases through remote sensing and artificial intelligence.

Career

He also served the government in the development of GIS application for flood recovery during the 2010 floods. He also served as the director general of IT at the Command, Control, Communication, Computer and Intelligence, (C4I) Directorate.

He has also served in the UN missions as a military GIS officer.

After being promoted to the rank of lieutenant general, Afsar served as inspector general of communication and IT as well as commander of Pakistan Army Cyber Command.
