Lal masjid incident has nothing to do with desecrating sikh holy sites. Keeping weapons in gurdwaras is a ritual of the sikh faith. If some sikhs were unhappy with the administration then their rights should have been granted to them and their case should have been heard. This never happened, so they decided to take up arms. BUT to raid a place of worship and rape their women and kill their children that also by an army of the state against its people is incredibly horrendous.

Religious movement can be successfull but for that you need a leader like jinnah.

Did you not have the lal masjid incident? If it has to be done, it has to be done. But that does not mean, there are no better ways to deal with religious movements. Not a single religious movement has ever been a success. Tell me if it has been? Pakistanis are very moderate people, and peace loving too. But the extremists will do such things everywhere. I don't need to remind you that the sikhs have no love lost for pakistan. Pakistani Punjabis and Sikhs share a rather bloody past. Wounds of that kind do not heal that easily.

These movements like Khalistan etc., have no real base in Indian Punjab where the majority of people live. Khalistan is kept alive only in internet and some of the places in Canada and UK. The support to this from some in this forum is understandable as they are more interested in anti-India than pro-Khalistani or any movements :lol:

Dude, there are many Jathas across Indian Punjab who preach about Jarnail Singh Bhinderawala and Khalistan, and also see him as a saint. Otherwise, the movie would not have been banned in Indian Punjab. Many Akalis also sympathize with Binderawala. Do not forget they have built a memorial Inside the Golden temple for the people who fought the Indian army, the highest Sikh authority has also given the title of "Zinda shaheed" or "Alive Martyr" to Balwant Singh Rajoanna who has on record gone onto say that he does not the recognize Indian system.

Please do a bit more research, this movie is not about Khalistan, it is about those Militants who were Involved in the movement of Khalistan.

Sikhism's most holy sites are in pakistani punjab. I would be worried if i was a pakistani supporting khalistan. But i do sympathize with families of innocents killed because of the acts of terrorists within their community. Sikhs are well integrated into Indian society. After all they believe in "Ek Omkar".

Yeah but the Golden Temple was not raided in Lahore but rather in Amritsar. Pakistanis only support freedom of the oppressed. When the sikhs of golden temple were attacked by their so called "own" army in INdia then they decided that India was not for them. Pakistani sikhs dont have that problem. They are fully part and parcel of the fabric of Pakistani society (bigsmile)

So they dont have this feeling of animosity or hatred towards their armed forces. If a Pakistani sikh supports the khalistan movement then so be it. They do have a point here :)

Your comments on partition are now outdated, they have nothing to do with the topic of the movie. The Sikhs of Pakistan are members of our party PTI, and they have never demanded Khalistan. To the contrary, Sikhs hold India responsible for crimes against humanity not Pakistan. The Delhi riots, the Golden temple massacre, and desecration of Akaal Takht, you need to get in line with reality.

These people are not Indians. India does not have dual citizenship. The "so called Khalistan" supporters live outside of India. What is their hope in hell of getting khalistan. Whenever they try to do something of this kind, it backfires on them. Supporting wrong causes is their favorite past time. SO one thing is clear that Lal Masjid has NO analogy with the Golden Temple Massacre where the INdian Army killed its own people.

NOw, the question is not what the history of sikhs is or isnt but rather why was their temple desecrated by the Indian army which is a cause for this resentment and hence the Khalistan Movement :)

The Pakistani sikhs have not suffered any such discrimination in Pakistan and they are free to live and practice their religion as they please because they know that Pakistan being an Islamic state will protect their religion as a tenet of Faith. It was secular India which attacked the Golden Temple NOT an Islamic Pakistan :). You keep on forgetting this very valid point.
