All over the world, this happens in jails, unfortunately it happened here also. Dead body should not be delivered if not required under the international law as India has not done anything to gain our goodwill or trust but has only been hostile to Pakistan. His family should repent his act of sabotage to the state of Pakistan instead of blaming Pakistan if the dead body is not delivered. The law should be honoured without any fear or favour or sympathy.

22 year in jail and then murder is not justice to any criminal. He is just a suspected spy who was not even 100% found for terrorist charges.

Why should India govt have good relation with a crazy nation who has no accountability, leaders, rule of law.!

One should never celebrate the murder of any person even if it's a Bharati terrorist like Sarabjit Singh. Having said that after the Raymond Davis affair Pakistan must toughen up and punish these people who cause mayhem in our country then laugh about it after being released. Indian Punjab is a breeding ground for RAW that sends men from poor families in to Pakistan then abandons them after they are exposed so let this be a warning to such that they will not be spared because Pakistan does not fear Bharat one bit! . We have proved this over and over that we will not be blackmailed or threatened, Eent ka jawab paththar!! If Bharat wants war then they know where we are so show some backbone instead of making cheap threats on your forums.

Look into ur own collars before u rant here. He was a spy, a convicted killer of 14 innocent Pakistanis. He got what he deserved. RAW terrorists have openly accepted who were set free by Pakistan that ur moron agency sent them in Pak on spy mission. In Pakistan, espionage itself has death sentence nd he was muderer who killed 14 innocent. U cried a lot what ajmal kasab and others did to u and u support this terrorist. Shame on u or dont cry like a kid

Did we forget what the indians did to a soldier captured in 1965 War, they tortured him for 40 years in their jail and cut of his tongue..........

Sepoy Maqbool Hussain of Azad Kashmir Regiment was declared missing on August 20, 1965 in Srinagar Area, his relatives said. He was understood to be have been martyred.

Forty years later, he crossed the Wagah border in exchange for civilian prisoners.

A far cry from the tall, well-built soldier he once was, mentally disoriented, was presumed to be a fisherman like the rest of the group who returned with him. On the homecoming of the soldier, neither his parents, nor his brother of Tarrar Khal on September 17, were in this world to receive him.

In his saner moments, he kept writing "No.335139" whenever he was questioned about his identity. Weeks later, officials, realizing the significance of the number, handed him over to the military, under whose care he has been for the past two years. Now he is spending his life under the high attention, and love of Pak Army.

Sarabjit dies at Lahores Jinnah hospital

sarabjit-singh-670-photoshopped.jpg

LAHORE: India’s Sarabjit Singh passed away in Lahore’s Jinnah Hospital on late Wednesday night, DawnNews reported.

Sarabjit Singh, who was sentenced to death 16 years ago on espionage charges, died at 1:00 am local time after lying in a comatose state for the last five days, a senior doctor at Jinnah hospital in Pakistan’s eastern city of Lahore told AFP.

The Principal of Allama Iqbal Medical College, Prof Dr Mahmood Shaukat, confirmed his death.
He said that Sarabjit’s body had been sent to the mortuary after he was removed from the ventilator.

Moreover, he said the condition of the patient was already critical because of low Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS).

Another doctor treating Sarabjit said he suffered a massive heart attack which led to his death. He said the surgeons made an attempt to insert a pacemaker to bring the patient back to life, but to no avail.

The doctor who spoke to AFP said arrangements were under way for an autopsy. Singh’s lawyer Awais Sheikh also confirmed the death and said that his body “has been moved to the hospital mortuary”.

India’s Prime Minister Manmohan Singh demanded “justice” from Pakistan following Sarabjit’s death. “The criminals responsible for the barbaric and murderous attack on Sarabjit Singh must be brought to justice,” the Indian premier said on his official Twitter page.

The prime minister added that New Delhi would make the necessary arrangements to bring his body home for funeral rites, after earlier negotiations to treat the jailed spy in India or a third country failed.

The Indian prime minister said it was “particularly regrettable” that the Pakistani government had not responded to appeals “to take a humanitarian view of this case”.

Indian foreign ministry spokesman Syed Akbaruddin called for Pakistan to conduct a probe into the assault on the 49-year-old.

“This was, put simply, the killing of our citizen while in the custody of Pakistan jail authorities,” Akbaruddin told India’s ANI news agency. “The shocking attack highlights the need for concerted action by Pakistan to safeguard Indians in Pakistan prisons.”

A convicted Indian spy on death row, Singh was attacked on April 26, Friday by two inmates in Kot Lakhpat jail when he left his barracks for a stroll.

He suffered severe injuries in the head whereby he was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Lahore’s Jinnah Hospital where a medical board comprising senior neurosurgeons treated him.
According to a report published in Dawn earlier, the prisoners assaulted Singh with bricks and other blunt weapons and left him seriously injured. A medical board was constituted for his treatment and he was put on a ventilator. His family members meanwhile had flown in from India.

His family insisted he was a victim of mistaken identity and had inadvertently strayed across the border while drunk. Four members of Singh’s family — his wife, two daughters and his sister — who travelled to Lahore on Tuesday have since returned to India, according to the Press Trust of India.

Earlier, Sarabjit’s sister Dalbir Kaur told newsmen at Wagah border that she was returning to India to take care of Sarabjit’s children.

She had demanded that Pakistan should hold an inquiry as to how Sarabjit’s security was compromised and he was subsequently attacked with bricks and iron rods. “If the attacked was planned by the government itself, then there is no need for an inquiry. But if Sarabjit was attacked without the knowledge of the authorities, then an inquiry is definitely needed.”

Sarabjit’s lawyer Awais Sheikh said he would file a fresh petition in Lahore High Court (LHC).
A senior official in Delhi had said diplomats from the high commission in Islamabad were not allowed to visit Singh in hospital, and had also complained about a lack of information on the prisoner’s condition.

The Pakistan foreign ministry however insisted Indian diplomats in Lahore were given access to Singh on two occasions.

Singh had illegally crossed into Pakistan on Aug 29, 1990. He was arrested on charges of carrying out four bombings in Faisalabad, Multan and Lahore which killed 14 Pakistani citizens. He was later sentenced to death.

Singh’s security was tightened after the recent execution in India of Afzal Guru, who was convicted of involvement in the 2001 terror attack on the parliament. Singh’s mercy petitions were rejected by courts and former President Pervez Musharraf.

The outgoing Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP)-led government put off Singh’s execution for an indefinite period in 2008. The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) condemned the attack on Singh as a “dastardly act” and called on the government to make a thorough inquiry into the matter and punish the guilty persons.

“The authorities have obviously failed to do their elementary duty” of providing him safety and security, the commission said in a statement.
