No it is not being personal. How you as an individual would be affected if GRS stays as COAS.
What is your concern. I can understand the concerns of NS , AH , Zardari , Wali Khan, Achakzai, Deisel and the TTP and their supporters.
And the Endians who are most concerned about GRS staying as COAS.
There is no worship here. We need him to finish the job he has started. Once he completes his job he could leave. Simple as that.

Yes, there is no doubt that the next COAS would be as good but your masters would get the breathing space they desperately require to protect their assets and to continue with the plundering and thus weakening the country more. Why the Endians are so anxiously looking forward to the same? Not just because of the border situation. GRS has been able to hit their network of terrorists assets inside the country which are being protected by your masters. These policies can easily be reset during the transition period. This is the reason Zardari is all set to return to Pakistan in December.
Your masters would revert all the laws and policies which turned out to be to be a bitter pill for them to swallow after the APS attack.
Deisel is already building an atmosphere to stop "Zarb e Azab" calling it an war against a region.
I do not care what GRS has said. He has taken an oath that he would finish the job before he leaves. If he is able to do it within this month, I would not care if he retires. If not, he should not be allowed to leave.

You seem to have some interesting calculation. You believe that Zardari and NS and the other goons would last 10-15 years. These goons might be banking on the same.
Can you please breakdown these number of years on exactly how do you think it would take these many years. It would be very useful for us.
And if that is the case, with the new Cheif it will take even longer.

my problem is that i consider this act will damage army image and capability. and not at all, i am not in army, kindly refrain from getting personal here and better talk about issues.
and my calculation is my observation which is based on what i see. asim hussain case is still pending for 2 years, not any other big name of PPP caught or PML N in punjab. and secondly zardari is enjoying in abroad, running govt from outside, not living in exile. establishment wont be able to touch him even if they try for next 10 years. and if current situation continues NS will remain PM till 2023 for sure.

GRS is a soldier, Pak Army is made up of soldiers who are best if they do what they have been trained to do. Do not expect them to do what is eventually YOUR job. Elimination of corruption is the job of your Elected leaders, and when it comes to electing our rulers, we vote for brotherism, caste, clan, color, province, sect, city, court cases, promotions, and WORST of all even money. In short, we consider anything & everything but the merit, honesty and ability.
That's why, Mike's comment is very shrewd and intelligent. First of all, it is not his job. Second of all, if he wanted, or his institution wanted it, why they haven't been able to do it so far Army ruled for most of Pakistan's history directly and all of Pakistan's history indirectly, and simple people eulogized all the COASs before him the same way, nothing changed. And, let me say Nothing will ever change if we keep misplacing our hopes, and the change will start from us, the people. We change and even if we are Not the best individually, make it a point we must elect better leaders. Keep the criteria higher for the leaders.
Last but not the least, make efforts to improve the system and avoid hero worship. We all know human being is created weak and when an individual lets us down, we are dejected and distraught but then we forget and start hoping for a new hero.

Without going into the calculation, I agree GRS extension will tarnish Army's image further. GRS or any other Ironman from the armed forces is not the solution. Pakistani people ought to struggle for a fair System with checks and balances, rule of law, and ensure we keep already obtained defective yet a civil / democratic setup and work within the system where people have comparatively some rights of free expression and some power to change the rulers. Did we not see how Gen Mushy is proudly confirming that Army had a hand in his escape from Pakistan? Do we not know who the actual rulers of Pakistan are? if not we must increase our awareness, should we not?

The common people do not care who is at the helm of affairs. They only are interested in the performance. If he were not popular among the Army and the general public, the political mafia would have shrugged off all his actions and decisions.
I know this political mafia is not sincere with Pakistan.
We all remember, the request for a National Action Plan was made much earlier which became only possible under pressure after the APS.
If there is a necessity for GRS to stay he should stay back. I know these political mafia well enough and I would never trust them.

1) common people do care, back in 2007 Musharraf/PML Q was doing good but still people thrown them out. well i am not here to change any one's mind but just to express my opinion and i think he should go home with respect.
2) zadari is enjoying in dubai, why he will return? he already ruled for 5 years and now he doesn't want to rule directly but will run govt through his party. if GRS stays and he hang or punishes (not like gillani punishment) NS or zardari, then i will give you lavish dinner any where in the world (you can save this page).
3) btw zardari can be called through Interpol if anyone wants to and secondly asim hussain remained in rangers protection for a long time and still they couldn't punish him.

This all happened because Musharraf did not remain in command of the Army.
Had he not removed the uniform, Zardari would still be in jail. Sharif brothers would not dare come back to Pakistan.
