Dear!

Scholars differed on what ruling "kissing the feet" should be.

Some said it is Mandoub (recommended) while other said it is Makrouh.

Those who said it is Mandoub stated that it is only limited to to be done to those who are known for their piety and rightousness. Others it is very much Makrouh and can be Haram.

The Hadeeths in this matter are all weak even those that are mentioned in Al-Adab al-Mufrad. The only Hadeeth that one can rely on is the Hadeeth of the jews kissing the feet of Allah's Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم) which was authenticiated by Al-Tirmithi but was denied by Al-Nasaie who said this Hadeeth is Munkar. .

There is no authentic Hadeeth that prove this matter.

The act was not to be transmitted by the companions in authentic narrations.

Although some scholars allowed it but it seems those who said it is Makrouh are most correct because:

1. NO proof on it.

2. It is a form of humiliation that should not be done especially knowing the kissing is allowed on hands.

3. Never been transmitted to be practiced by the companions

4. People watching this act would not know the intention of person kissing and they may consider it as Sajda and may go back and repeat the sane act as Sajda.

5. It can lead the one you kiss him to pride and it is such of praising that we are told to avoid it by Allah's messenger

So

there are two view on that right??

any way

It can not be named as Sajda

Take care

Whether you name it Sajda or not, kissing the feet of another person is against the spirit of Islam. Islam does not like humiliating somebody at the same time whose feet are being kissed may lead him of pride, which is against the teaching of humbleness in Islam.

A true Muwahhid (مُوَحِّد) , means monotheist, one who believers in the oneness of Allah SWT will never even think of kissing feet of another human. Those who believe that a pious person (in their imagination) will find some short cut for fulfilling their needs, are the one who would happily kiss the feet of another person.

The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said: Man should call upon Allah alone to provide for all his needs, so much so that even if a shoe-lace is broken, he should pray to Allah to provide a shoe-lace, and if he needs salt, he should beseech Allah to send it to him. [Tirmidhi]

currently topic is Sajda so I answer according to that.

Jub kabi is topic par baat hoi to will answer Take Care

May Allah give all of us Hidayat to understand the true spirit of Islam.

Just for the sake of our forum member's knowledge I would like to quote following authentic Hadeeths which further clarifies the issue under discussion.

In the words of the Prophet pbuh “Whoever likes the people to stand up for him, let him take his place in Hell.” Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 2755; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Tirmidhi.

It was narrated that Anas (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: A man said, “O Messenger of Allaah, when a man among us meets his brother and friend, should he bow to him?” He said, “No.” He said, “Should he embrace him and kiss him?” He said, “No.” He said, “Should he take his hand and shake hands?” He said, “Yes.” Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, who said: a hasan hadeeth. It was also classed as hasan by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Tirmidhi, 2728
.
Here, we are clearly told that when two Muslims meet they are not allowed to bow. Some say the bowing must not come down to the position as assumed in Ruku`. But the Hadith imposes a total ban on it. There is no question of more or less degree of bowing, still less of touching the knees and feet of anybody. Here embracing has been prohibited too, but the prohibition is effective only if the kissing of hands is also involved. Otherwise, some Ahadith allow embracing, particularly on return from a journey or when two persons meet after a long time. Thirdly, the Hadith is absolutely clear on handshake.

Since the topic of this thread is different than the discussion we are having, I tried to be concise, as much as possible.

(1) Narrated al-Wazi' ibn Zari': Umm Aban, daughter of al-Wazi' ibn Zari', quoting his grandfather, who was a member of the deputation of AbdulQays, said: When we came to Medina, we raced to be first to dismount and kiss the hand and foot of the Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him). But al-Mundhir al-Ashajj waited until he came to the bundle of his clothes. He put on his two garments and then he went to the Prophet (peace_be_upon_him). He said to him: You have two characteristics which Allah likes: gentleness and deliberation. He asked: Have I acquired them or has Allah has created (them) my nature? He replied: No, Allah has created (them) in your nature. He then said: Praise be to Allah Who has created in my nature two characteristics which Allah and His Apostle like. (Book #41, Hadith #5206)

In Above Narrations Umme Abaan is Unknown and Hafiz Ibne Hajar asqalani said she is Maqboolah in his Taqreeb at tahzeeb page 343

Ibn Hajar said in Muqaddimah of At Taqreeb at Tahdeeb:
The one who has no hadiths except for a few, and that it is not proven that anyone left his hadiths during his time and the term "Maqbul" is applied to him when backed by other narrations. If not, then he is weak in ahadith.

Please read carefully

Sajda karny ka HUKAM nahi dia
