PTI SHOULD INCREASE THE DIRECT TAXES NOT INDIRECT TAXES WHICH AFFECT THE POORS, ALSO EXPAND THE TAX NET . FROM DIRECT TAXES PTI WILL GET MORE REVENUE FROM RICH AND ELITES WHICH IS THE RIGHT WAY TO INCREASE THE REVENUE .
CHARGE THE PROPERTY TAXES FROM CURRENT MARKET PRICE AND COLLECT 0.5% TO 1 % FROM THOSE PROPERTY OWNERS TO DECREASE THE DEFICIT . LETS GET THE RICH AND ELITES WHO WERE HAVING FREE RIDE IN THE PAST BUT REALIZE THE NATIONAL RESPONSIBILITY NOW WHEN NATION IS IN DIRE NEED OF MONEY . I GAVE MY ASSESSMENT NOW ITS UP TO THE GOVT . PEOPLE ALWAYS SACRIFICE THEMSELVES AND THEIR WEALTH WHEN NATION IS IN TROUBLE . ITS NOT ELECTION YEAR , TELL THE REALITY TO THE PEOPLE , INCREASE THE DIRECT TAXES AND PUBLIC HAVE TO CO-OPERATE . ITS LIKE NATIONAL FINANCIAL EMERGENCY RIGHT NOW .

Oh bhai its an interim or mini budget, not complete budget which was necessary to tackle the blunders made by PML-N budget which they should not have announced just before leaving.
On the other hand, I think that they will have to stream line the tax collection so that MORE PEOPLE, pay tax, not, same people pay more tax. I am waiting for this strategy.

I guess they could start by given their basic rights first. Overseas Pakistanis are not beggars like our Pakistani government so they never ask anything free. They only want their rights.
I'm an overseas pakistani, I can't think of any rights that I need that I don' have. Biggest help was NICOP card, valid for 10 years and don't need visa to come to pak now. And few years ago I had it renewed in Lahore - took an hour at nadra office and I got the new card via post in weeks.

With all due respect Nissar saab, Occam's Razor, not everything requires out of the box thinking. And this is just a temporary measure to get our brain dead vegetative economy to stabilize, before surgery can be done.

Thats one extreme example.
I've travelled through lahore airport multiple times (alone and with family) over the last many years and not had one bad experience, except over-crowding at the check-in desks a couple of times.

You are joker not to believe this. I am an overseas Pakistni also. My wife visited Islamabad and on her way back these clowns emptied her pockets.

She gave all the Pakistani money she had so she can come back to US and never return again to that shit-hole. She told me she will never go back to Pakistan again.

I'm not doubting that, or saying that people don't have bad experiences I'm sorry your wife had a bad experience.

But what you're talking about is service and manners at the airport. We don't need a budget to give us "rights" to fix that.

We need to eliminate corruption, give some service oriented training to the staff, and in some cases a kick up the ***. Thats part of fixing the instiutions that previous govts have not paid attention to in decades.

May be you are one of those haramkhor elite class who can pull strings in Pakistan and never have to face the real process. Guys like you will never know what it's like to be an ordinary citizen and travel without any pull in Pakistani Government.

This is why no tourist goes to Pakistan. Even Nigeria and Uganda gets more tourists in their countries today.
