Will you buy a Pakistani made car?

Yaar majority of Pakistanis I've seen are really not that well versed or really care too much about such things as engines. It's not their fault, there is very limited car culture there anything worth having is out of reach of the common man.

Don't want to sound negative but if you think you are going to create a big buzz and hype with your engine revelation, don't think its going to happen.

Edit : Another idea I have is before you dump money into it is get a well know research and marketing firm to do a proper market survey of your intentend customer base. What is important to them in a car, what features if missing are deal breakers, what they are willing to compromise on keeping price in mind. what they would like to have and if they are willing to pay extra for that and if so by how much
Thanks , we are creating a questionnaire for that with the help of a surveying/marketing company. Infact a couple of years ago we didn't even think about building a car for people , we were just designing it as our private project so we didnt carry out a questionnaire routine then. Today , it seems that we may finally take a big step.

Another honest and sincere advise. I would suggest to hold on till this turmoil passes away. Things are very uncertain right now, not very wise to put down a lot of money right about now.

P.S : Some of the best ideas and products come about this way.

Of course why not?
Bring a good quality car, everyone will buy it. But good quality.

I am talking about 100 % Pakistani ; conceptualized , designed and manufactured in Pakistan.

A car which would be comparable in size with Suzuki alto current generation but with bigger engine (1000 cc) + mild hybrid as well(capable of producing upto 72HP and torque of 95 Nm). It would come with 4 airbags, TC ,ABS , EBD , HAC , VSC. Every material and skill needed to manufacture the car is available to us , but before making a very big investment I would like to know that would people be interested in buying a car which is made in Pakistan. Ofcourse the price we are thinking is way less than the Suzuki Alto available in Pakistan. We will soon issue a Questionnaire as well.

The design is not out of the world , it will like any 660cc you see today on Pakistan roads but with comparatively more power.
If the world can buy Pakistan-made fighter jets & helicopters if Pakistani missiles can create fear in the hearts of every superpower of this world, why can't a Pakistani buy a car made in Pakistan? It will be definitely a car built to compete with other cars.

People do not need power but mostly will buy if car is solid with good price and all inclusive what you have mentioned. Not like peace of garbage all running on Pakistani roads.

Many will buy a Pakistani made car if the price tag is competitive with reasonable features in the car. I met a guy, who was having a Pakistani hatchback car, forgot its name, but his reason was this was the only car in his budget.

What's your plan? When you say 100%, what it means?

ecu and electronics , airbags
I dunno how much I would trust any of those, because decades of R&D has gone into those and even well established companies don't manufacture their own but get them from companies like Bosch, Siemens and Takata also because its not financially sensible to invest so much money into manufacture of these complex products and systems.

As for suspension what kind of setup do you have? Macpherson struts, wishbone or leaf springs (hope not)

And yeah work on that prototype drive it on for at least a 100k kms on Pakistani roads in all weather situations from the heat of sindh to freezing temps in KPK. You'll learn a lot about the car. Its strong points and most important of all its weak points and parts wear rates and stress areas which might need redesign or reinforcement. Running 3d model simulations is one thing, real world testing is another

I've worked on a lot of prototype testing for a lot of manufacturers including but not limited to Porsche, Land Rover, Jeep, Nissan, Toyota etc etc

The world is way ahead of us ,last year honda introduced a 9 year old generation of honda city in pakistan and it was received with a bang.

Heart of the car , we have covered.
Suspension system , covered.
Braking system , covered.

The only question is , whether pakistanis will but a Pakistani Made Car which looks like your everyday 660cc on roads?
Sure, I will. But need to compare the price to quality balance.

If you produce quality at the economical rate, everyone will buy. Be it Pakistanis or foreigners.

Never compromise over the quality. This is the biggest problem with Pakistani way of working.

I'll buy it.... for Pakistan. Go for 100% electric if you can. It can easily be charged with solar system.
Electric in the future , at the moment there isnt enough charging infrastructure here. We are hoping to price it with minimal profit. It will have good quality inshaAllah , will not compromise on that.

Sulphur battery is on horizon , we will soon have a 900 miles range but that will be in the first world first. We will have to wait.

Where are you based? We may want technical help in the future.

mcpherson struts and torsion bar. The most common we see these days.

Ofcourse thorough testing will be done.

About ECU , Alhamdulillah thats not a big issue. We even have good enough expertise and talent available to work on our own LIDAR sensing chip for ADAS and autonomous driving but thats for later.
