Good question. Yes we do not know even if Faez Esa will be living till the day of him becoming the CJ. We also do not know even if the world will not be doomed before then.

But, we can speculate.

Obviously, Faez Esa has a history and he will be looking forward to settle his score. Other Judges will not be interested in this, as it will leave everyone of them vulnerable in the future. It is the same point Faez Esa raised in his review petition in SC that if today he is going to be ragged, tomorrow, it will become a norm and everyone (the judges specially) will be subject to all this.

In the institutions, unity of command is the rule, everywhere. They are not political forums. Even UN has delegated certain countries a Veto power, based on their position. It is not possible to build consensus in every matter, which will eventually lead to chaos on a larger scale.

This action of the parliament will prevent a one man show, but on the other hand, will leave the SC forum highly politicized in the future as well -- Keep two justices in your pocket and SC will never be able to use this power of Suo Moto against Government, but will only take Suo Moto against their political opponents.

It was better that under article 191, it was left to the SC to come up with befitting rules for itself.

I am sorry but Faizabad Dharna (by TLP) case decision was most ridiculous one. Faiz Esa has the tendency to jump to the conclusion a little too early, that is what he did in that case.

I don't know him personally, but people, who have worked with him told me that he has a typical Feudal mind set. Mind you, the Feudal dynamics of a place like Baluchistan are way too different than our Punjab. They are basically tribals and have a nomadic lifestyle.

I dont think so, it was sponsored by ISI as it was read in the judgment. But as I said it was probably from his populistic mindset. He found something new to ride on. The horse IK is riding on these days. Show himself above everything, without thinking that his work can be done easily without being vocal and jeopardizing the national interests.

Yes, he will not be CJ for long, I think his tenure will be a little over than 4 months, but this is enough time for him to cause a dent.

His mentality is different, his ego has been hurt badly in the case of his wife's properties. He will do anything in these 4 months to make up for his loss or to massage his ego. This is why the establishment, along with Bundyal wants to usurp his unbridled powers of Suo Moto, to save their own skin.
