There is reported dissatisfaction among certain segments of the Pakistan Army, with instances of resignations and suicides purportedly on the rise.
Allegedly, some officers disillusioned with their circumstances are leaving the army and the country, seeking citizenship in colder climates such as Finland. There have been reports of officers facing dismissals stemming from personal and matrimonial challenges exacerbated by service duties, prolonged deployments, and the stresses of combat.
In response to these challenges, it is claimed that a new section called the "Matrimonial Issues Section" has been established within the Personnel Services Directorate at General Headquarters (GHQ), purportedly headed by a retired Brigadier, Brigadier Tahir. This section is reportedly situated near the Transit Camp/Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology (AFIC). It is alleged that Brigadier Tahir, along with his staff, including a Deputy Assistant Adjutant General (DAAG) and clerks, has been involved in inappropriate conduct, including alleged sexual exploitation of distressed officer's spouses.
However, these claims are unsubstantiated and require thorough investigation. Additionally, it is asserted that this section allegedly engages in gathering private information about couples and potentially misuses it for coercion. It is also purported that some officers have allegedly threatened Brigadier Tahir but were unable to take any action due to their circumstances.
As per the alleged modus operandi, this cell first gathers intelligence about the private relationship of couples, fetching videos and pictures, and then uses the same for exploiting these ladies. This cell is alleged to be the brain child of Lt Gen Muhamamd Amer (Retd), Ex AG, and implemented by Maj Gen Muhamamd Imtiaz Khan Retd (Ex DG PS&PM), Brig Kamran, Ex DD PS-1A and ColShehzad Saleem Malik ex AAG PS-1A.
