Even if you believe in such a thing wouldn't it be much better to send one who hasn't been able to do so once or better yet spend that money in making someone less privileged life much better?

NO, because the moulvi Islam is a selfish Islam, and all rituals and practices prescribed by them are for an individual benefit, everything moulvi Islam teaches you to do is for your own personal benefit. Tell me how will society and mankind benefit from your namaz, your rozas and your hajj and umrahs?

And when some are moved to do something for others, its practically worthless! Like this "ramazan" so many videos of people donating for public iftar for little kids in masjids!?!?! First thought that comes to mind is since when are 5 to 8 yr old kids fasting in the first place?
