The original Malayalam movie "Aadujeevitham | The Goat Life" has been banned in Gulf countries like Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Oman. Critics have accused the producers of fabricating claims against Riyadh and questioned Netflix's motives for streaming it and others also blamed Algeria and Jordan, where the film was primarily shot, for "colluding" with India in the process of making the film.

However, the boycott calls overlook the ongoing abuse of the kafala system (Sponsorship) in the region, which grants employers extensive control over migrant workers, leading to exploitation and abuse. its Modern day slavery .

- The movie is a crucial political assertion of Indian dominance in the region, providing the power to criticize other countries without fearing retaliation

I was reading a review in which it said that movie showed one sided story which is obviously negative but the positive side was that that guy became Muslim after good behaviour of the son of cruel Arab Kafeel after his father death. His Muslim name was Najeeb.

I remember that back in 1990s, Indian Blockbuster Border was also banned in Oman. But blaming Algeria and Jordan for colluding with India, I mean that's pretty hasty and hyper.

It's good that South Indian movies are now coming up with realistic stories rather than same old actions where Hero does all Jackie-Chan moves after wrapping his Lungi.

It might have some political motive especially when China and Russia are becoming more active in Middle East and GCC but why would India get into the new Cold War by serving American interests? Hollywood itself has been vilifying certain cultures, races and nations for a long time.

You never know some Arab may label actor of the movie as vulgar and obscene because of the following song from this another movie of his 😄

Abuse of labourers in GCC is not some myth.

Remember how Ansar Burney got banned in UAE?

Don't know how many Indian, Bangladeshi and Nepalese workers also died due to severe working conditions for preparations of Qatar FIFA World Cup
