BBZ has shamefully abused Karsaz memorial rally, talked little about his mom or Karsaz and spent all the time threatening political opponents, essentially signaling everyone in the country from the podium that he knows how to oil the Pakistani "machine" and use his tyranny of numbers ("brute majority") to achieve his political goals.
A perpetual oligarchy of tyrants is at the door. The individual interests of Mafia members have clearly merged.
The people's and country's future (not just IK's) is being traded at the altar of two Mafia dynasties in the name of "liberal democracy," courtesy two usurpers (military/judicial) at the behest of their imperial masters. Both Dynasts - Bilawal and Maryam - know well that the Amendments are their only path to PM-ship of this hapless land, if it survived their greed and follies. Who are BBZ's (local/foreign) "handlers" and "advisors"? Are there any Western military or political "advisors" or "consultants" also present in the country advising this junta? Will any investigative journalist dig out, or should the people wait for a FOI request, Question Hour, or the verdict of history?!
Never wished to draw this parallel, but BBZ's wicked spin-meistery during the past few days reminds one of his grand-dad's sophistry during the 1970-71 constitutional impasse. Hate to say, BBZ's speech in Hyderabad today will likely go down as one of the most divisive, incendiary and opportunist speeches ever delivered by a Pakistani leader. One can't help but recall that his grand-dad had also used similar sophistry, threats and tricks to climb the ladder of power; from point-black ultimatum to Yahya Khan in 1969 that "nothing can keep me from assuming power in 2-3 years" (cf.: US National Archives), to his post-election machinations, such as his speech at a public rally in Lahore on Dec 20, 1970 wherein the plans for peaceful transfer of power met a still-birth when he advanced his own doctrine of quantum politics ("quantum of power" vs "quantum of (provincial) autonomy") and a PPP-AL "grand coalition" at national level, his malicious presentation (drafted by Aziz Ahmed) to military on the future federal structure on Jan 29, 1971, his speech at a public rally in Lahore on/around Feb 15, 1971 wherein he promised to "break the legs of any MNA travelling to Dhaka to take the oath of office," and more.... Is BBZ walking in his grand-dad's foot-steps, or does treason and crime run in the family, as the sages have said. Will BBZ apologize to the nation? He must.
Whatever.... anyone voting for the Mafia's Amendments will be doing a disservice to the country, to say the least, and potentially inviting mass cleansing by a native Cromwell or Robespierre.
