I am not saying that there is no chance that he might push the POA (Pak Occupation Army) to stop with this non-sense behavior but when i indicated is that there is more to what is happening in Pakistan, it is not a Presidential project, it is a deep state project and unluckily both Dems and Republicans are happy to for the china containment policy.
He is good for Ukrainian issue, he is good for Europe in a ironic sense but when it comes to Pakistan. I am not too hopeful.

Do agree with you that US deep state look at things from a certain angle & also agree that China is certainly on direct collision course with the US interests but its mostly confined to economy. Pakistan does not offer much viz a viz US China economic tussle, though Pakistan's rogue generals would love to have such scenario at play.

But you have to understand that these deep state postures are shaped in decades, it is not a '5 year cycle' thing. Pakistan is indeed a way china can create a blue water Navy plus a blue water economy (the already have ) but one that is not in risk of blockade due to it geographic position in the Pacific.
This encirclement is nothing new, US did it to Soviet Union and Soviets tried to do the same in Afghanistan as China is trying to do.

but I think it is not about a president calling it has more complex aspects that we can not ignore. Trump is not a very knowledgeable person, he came ot 'drain the swamp' in 2016 but he played in the hands of the Swamp. I highly doubt that he knows where exactly is Pakistan.

that argument would have been valid only if US & China were to engage with each other militarily in the near or foreseeable future which seems highly unlikely. keep in mind China is USA's biggest trading partner. their issues & conflicts, if we may call it so, are mainly limited to trade deficits & threats of hiking up trade tariffs on each others goods & commodities. it is nothing like what was witnessed between the US & Soviets during cold war.

You are right Trump may not know where Pakistan is but he will make decisions after receiving advice from his advisors.The advisors and senior bureaucrats run governments in the west.I doubt if Trump will be able to fulfill all the promises he made during his election campaign.To win elections politicians make all sorts of promises.

but you are ignoring that the US or China will never have a war as most Nuclear powers have very little chance of going to war with each other, we are already in a cold war between China and the US , yes they are trading and they have relations but it is the new version of cold war, but if you read up on this, you will realize that they, specially the US does not let any chance to antagonize the Chinese, they are already in a arm race.
US and Soviet fought/flexed in Cuba, Afghanistan, Vietnam etc, they will do the same with china and Pakistan is a one of the most likely place for this kinda bullshit due to eagerness of the Paleed Army to serve a white master.
