A friend of mine who a consultant surgeon got hold of lots of stoma bags.In his hospital they keep large supplies of stoma bags and colostomy bags.The doctors and charities are allowed to send some of these bags to poor countries or where there are emergencies eg wars,natural disaster.He got 800 stoma bags and sent them to Pakistan for poor people via a courier.It cost him £70 to send.The bags were free.A relative of my wife was going to collect them but the customs won’t release the bags .They are asking for a receipt which shows the value of the bags.The doctor did not pay for them so we have no receipt.I think the customs officials are going to sell them or they want a lot of money as custom duty.Poor people in Pakistan can’t afford these bags.Those who don’t know what stoma and colostomy bags are here is a description from Google.
