Why the suo moto had to be taken was a question itself when the president already announced dates within constitution. Article 6 could have been tried on the people responsible to conduct elections within time if they failed to do so.

Technically you are right but 2 aspects:
a. The Supreme Court seems awfully nervous and timid
b. The Supreme Court not being a trial court can only validate article 6 punishment announced by the trial court.... validated by high court and then SC.

But Fahad keep this in mind that the type of badmaash these opponents (Establishment, Thugs, Bureaucracy) are, they will throw the SC's decision in the dustbin because SC's judgements are implemented by the Fed/Prov governments.
