but the thing is both horse and donkey meat is halal but makru at the same time as both animals were of use to so profit stopped people from eating them.. the ones that r in jungle and not used for lorries and stuff u can eat them..
but in pakistan the problem is ppl seel donkey meat labeled as bakra meat which is wrong and they should rightly be punished..

ہماری معلومات کے مطابق ہم نے تو علماء سے صرف گھوڑے کے بارے میں سنا ہے کہ وہ ابتدائی دور میں حلال ہوتا تھا۔۔۔ لیکن کیونکہ گھوڑے کا شمار 'سامان حرب' میں کیا جاتا ہے تو گھوڑا مکروہ قرار پایا۔۔۔ لیکن گدھے کا تو حرب سے دور کا بھی کوئی تعلق نہیں ہے۔۔۔۔

The first is permitted because of the report narrated by al-Bukhaari (5492) and Muslim (1196) from Abu Qataadah (may Allaah be pleased with him) who hunted an onager and brought a piece of it to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and he ate some of it, and he said to his companions: “It is halaal, eat it.” [/FONT][FONT=wf_segoe-ui_light]With regard to domesticated donkeys, their meat was permitted at first, then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) declared it to be haraam on the day of Khaybar. Ibn ‘Abd al-Barr said: There is no difference of opinion among the Muslims scholars today concerning the fact that it is haraam. End quote from al-Mughni (9/324).
