سندھ انسٹی ٹیوٹ آف چائلڈ ہیلتھ نے ہیومن مِلک بینک کا منصوبہ روک دیا,ترجمان سندھ انسٹی ٹیوٹ آف چائلڈ ہیلتھ کے مطابق اس حوالے سے دارالعلوم کراچی اور اسلامی نظریاتی کونسل سے رہنمائی حاصل کی جائے گی۔

ترجمان نے کہا کہ ادارےکا بنیاری مقصد بچوں کی صحت اور فلاح و بہبود ہے, قبل از وقت پیدا ہونے والے بچے 34 ہفتے یا کم مدت کے ہوتے ہیں، ان کا وزن کم ہوتا ہے، ان بچوں کی ماؤں میں سے اکثر ماؤں کا دودھ اتنا نہیں ہوتا کہ بچوں کی غذائیت کوپورا کرسکے۔

دارالعلوم کراچی نے ہیومن ملک بینک کے قیام کو ناجائز قرار دے دیا,شیخ الاسلام حضرت مفتی تقی عثمانی صاحب نے کہا موجودہ حالات میں انسانی دودھ کی خرید و فروخت "ہیومن ملک بینک" کا قیام ناجائز ہے,اس سے رصاعت کے حوالے سے سنگین مسائل پیدا ہونے کا خطرہ ہے جبکہ انسانی دودھ کی تجارت کابھی اندیشہ ہے.

Thanks to OP for sharing. This is a settled matter, as some have noted above. It shouldn't have been a project in the first place in a country founded in the name of Islam and that still claims to be an Islamic Republic. The Noble Qur'an is clear and there're several edicts also available. In recent memory, see the 1985 Fatwa of the OIC's Council of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy here. Do you want sperm banks (as a friend noted above), gay marriages, legal unrestricted abortions in Pakistan now? Where are you heading?

Any institute in Pakistan, not just SICHN Karachi, interested in caring for premature infants whose mothers couldn't breastfeed could and should have simply set up a "Foster Volunteers list," where those interested could have enrolled them as "Foster Volunteers" for such emergencies. Done with mutual informed consent and transparency, there would've been no need for such infrastructure, investments, concerns for freezing, sterilization, etc. It would've also mitigated the risks of unknown and unwanted "foster" relationships and complications in future marriages, assuming there are people who still care about the Word of Allah swt.

p.s.: On a quick search, it turns out that this project was inaugurated earlier this month, see here, and pitched as a "Shariah-compliant" project. However, the names of religious scholars who issued the first fatwa of Shariah-compliancy to Sindh or federal government or UN are not disclosed. If anyone knows, plz share names of all individuals involved, so that we could recognise the useful idiots and chameleons.

Furthermore, it turns out that this is/was a UNICEF project. The News story of 8 June 2024 says: "The milk bank has been established in collaboration with UNICEF" (i.e., implies that technical & financial support was provided by UNICEF and it was part of their multiyear Country Plan agreed in advance with GOP).

And who is UNICEF in Pakistan? Less said the better....

Those in various ministries and agencies who vetted Mr Fadil's credentials & signed on to his accreditation in 2022 - and those who cleared this project in the UNICEF's multiyear plan & were associated with its recent launch in Karachi - must come clean now.

UNICEF owes a public apology to the people of Pakistan for breaching the UN Charter and launching a project contrary to the religious beliefs and culture of its host country. (beware though of the likely defense that this was part of the agreed Country Plan, that now Mr Cheema supervises, de jure)

FOI warrants that Establishment Div also discloses all local/foreign trips, trainings, scholarships of our babus paid for by the UN agencies or foreign embassies.

Resolution No. 6 (6/2) Human Milk Banks

The Council of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy of the Organization of the Islamic Conference, holding its 2nd session in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on 10–16 Rabīʿ al-Awwal 1406H (22–28 December 1985),

Having reviewed the two jurisprudential and medical studies submitted to the Academy concerning Human Milk Banks,

Having examined and discussed in-depth the two studies concerning the different aspects of the issue,

It became evident that:

First: The concept and experiment of human milk banks are a new phenom- enon initiated in the Western nations; however, in its practice, certain scientific and technical adverse effects were detected, thus causing a decline in its use and lack of interest in it.

Second: To Islam, breastfeeding creates a bond similar to a lineage bond and forbids, according to the consensus of Muslim scholars, precisely the same due to actual lineage relationship. One of the objectives of Shariah is to safeguard the progeny of a person, whereas human milk banks lead to confusions and doubts. Third: The social structure in the Muslim world is such that it can fulfill the needs of a premature or a weak child who is in lack of natural breastfeeding from human milk (in some exceptional cases), thus eliminating the dependency on human milk banks.

Resolves

First: The establishment of human milk banks should be prohibited in the Muslim world.

Second: It is prohibited to feed a Muslim child with milk from these banks.

Indeed, Allāh is All-Knowing.

If I recall correctly, the Quran does not say such a thing that, if a mother breastfeeds any other kid besides her, the boy and girl will become brother & sister. Correct me if I'm wrong!

The so-called "Sahih" hadith is full of contradictions, and many ahadith outright insult & mock the Prophet and his companions. What will you gain by accepting these ahadith?
The Quran says it is complete & detailed, so do we have any reason to believe in ahadith?

I have NEVER been able to find a single ayat in Quran about using internet and smartphone. Also, there is no hadith , which would categorically allow the use of internet and Smartphone in Islam.
Am I am committing kufar by using them, is my nikaah fasikh, are my children wald-uz-zinnah because I am out of islam.
