How best Quran can be understood:

i) First of all approach to it with an "impartial attitude", leaving aside your already made or taught
concepts.

ii) Quran has got some special words like, "Momneen", Mushraykeen, Fasqeen, Kafreen, Muslims etc. etc. etc.
which are nouns. All subsequent verses deal in with "Pronouns" like, They, them, etc etc etc.

iii) So it is very important to understand for example what is the requirement for a person to be a Momin,
their fulfilment criteria, etc. Is it enough to say it by mouth and you are Momin or there is some hard work to do;

iv) Quran lays down strong stress upon "Good deeds", so what are those good deeds, etc.

v) what is the category of a verse in Question, its sequence, its subject, its time, to whom it is addressed,
is it "Muhakam" or "Mutashiba", is it "Perpetual Commandament" or "Past history", is it person(s)-specific
or general.

vi) What are the "inbetween proverbs" in a narration. More than often Quran narrates something on a subject,
in between (Proverbal commandaments come), the subject again is continued. So attention to that also.

vii) Persistence and patience, open heart and acceptance, is the key.

viii) Self-confidence and trust over Allah. That If someone did it or can do it, why I cannot;

ix) Dedication of time as much as one gives to other material or a fair percentage;

x) Last but not the least, Prayer to Allah that He may increase the Knowledge;

With the help of Allah, this Noor will automatically come to your heart and many your questions and
complexities will be solved. No more Firqas/sects/and past personality worshiping, life easy and betterment
in the Hereafter.

Mughal1,
Although videos are helpful, but the beauty of the discussion is that one should make his/her
own points and then if necessary a link to site or video may be given. Just pasting the video is
of no use. In mine post No.4, they are all mine own points, there are more, but the main ones.
they were made while studying Quran myself. The questions are:

a) Whether we should take what have been done by other past people with regard
to Quran, as "Final" and "Sanad", or we should also with the passage of time
should exert over Quran.

b) There is no "Tafsir" written and compiled at the time of Prophet(pbuh), all the tafsirs
written are hundreds of years latter and were written according to the choice of the writers.

The choice for the reader is whether to stick to what Moulana Jullundri, etc etc, or Pickthall or
Yusuf Ali have written or he/she may also dig into. Unfortunately people are very shy to approach
Quran at their own due to reasons that they have been made "frightened" by the "monopolist
groups" that One has to cross the oceans of things before even considering to understand
Quran. This is the point were I, as my own, refute them and say that "Quran is for Linaas and
it is going to be for Linaas, it is easy and everyone can understand". People do not like this
approach and are used to get everything "Ready-made".
