I generally agree with your write up above regarding awareness , I don’t think it has anything to do with PTI
If khan was really sincere to this awareness cause, he wouldn’t have taken steps to destroy Pakistan (landmines) and would have stepped down when according to him Bajwa was running the show, after all that’s what he had always promised that he won’t be a dummy PM
Pinky Gogii friendship doomed him
I appreciate your thoughts, but I believe there are several layers to Imran Khan's story that need to be taken into account. Yes, Khan is not without flaws, and there are criticisms of his actions, particularly with regard to his handling of certain political situations. However, it’s important to recognize the bigger picture in which he operated, including the challenges he faced that were beyond his control.
While you mention that Khan should have stepped down if Bajwa was running the show, it's important to remember that in a system like Pakistan's, the military has historically played a significant role in shaping politics, often behind the scenes. Khan's relationship with Bajwa is complicated, and it was clear that there were struggles for power within the corridors of authority. However, Khan’s ability to stand up against the military, especially when it came to foreign policy and the relationship with the U.S., shows that he wasn’t simply a puppet. His conflict with the Biden administration, for example, was no small matter, and it put him in direct opposition to the U.S. establishment, which is no small risk for any leader in Pakistan.
As for the allegations about destroying Pakistan and landmines, this needs a more nuanced understanding. Yes, his decisions weren’t always perfect, but the broader political landscape, with its constant interference and lack of stability, also contributed to the problems he faced. His promises to change the system were met with entrenched resistance from multiple political and military factions. These are not simple issues to tackle, and any leader, even one as sincere as Khan, would have been faced with tremendous challenges.
Also, let’s not forget his response to India during the Abhinandan episode. Khan's leadership in that situation showed his resolve and commitment to national interests. When India conducted an airstrike on Balakot, and the situation threatened to escalate into full-scale war, Khan’s calm and calculated response prevented a larger conflict. His decision to release Abhinandan, the Indian pilot, was a bold move that showed he had a different approach to handling tense international relations.
Lastly, as for the "Pinky Gogii" friendship, it’s easy to point fingers at personal relationships, but they should not overshadow the political dynamics at play. Khan, like any politician, is influenced by those around him, but this doesn't necessarily mean that his political failures or successes should be reduced to personal friendships.
In the end, the game Khan was playing was far more complex than a simple matter of loyalty to Bajwa or political maneuvering. It was a power struggle involving multiple actors, both domestically and internationally. The political instability we see today is a result of various forces, and Khan, did not have full control over them.
And listen, I know you're a fan of the N-League , but you’re kind of trapped in a never-ending "re-run" of the same old story! It’s like you’ve been watching the same episode of a political soap opera for the past decade, hoping for a plot twist. it's 2025, time to change the channel and see the bigger picture! Maybe try watching a new series ?
