Pakistan army corps commanders meet every month and issue a holy decree to the people of Pakistan. Why don’t the people write back? Let’s do it.

A Civilian's Response to Corps Commanders' latest ‘wisdom’

Firstly, with all due respect, can we please stop declaring our military fatalities as "Shuhada"? It fails both tests; the concept of jihad in Islam and principles of a professional army. It's time Pakistan army does away with this tribal belief and stops referring to its personnel killed in action (KIA) as “martyrs”.

Our fight against terrorism is not some holy war fought under the banner of Islam. Our army is a government force fighting against terrorists, most of them our own citizens, just like in Iran, Turkey, Syria, Russia, U.S. or elsewhere. What are our forces fighting for? To establish an Islamic Caliphate, or for a man-made 'democratic' system, or for being at best, a client sate to the U.S.? We cannot even decide our foreign policy ourselves.

Also, it's always good to portray yourself as a professional military fighting for its nation state, not some self-proclaimed ‘mujahideen’ fighting some imaginary Ghazwa-e-Hind or a nonexistent "jihad". If you claim to be a “shaheed’ because you’re Muslim, what would you call your Sikh, Hindu or Christian soldiers who are KIA?Let’s be rational, not emotional. Happy to be corrected on this.

We are tired of this lollipop month after month, year after year and decade after decade. Why has Pakistani military failed to curb the menace of terrorism in Pakistan for the last two decades and counting? For how long do we have to pay for the crimes of General Zia-ul-Haq and General Musharraf?

What gains? All the gains against terrorism that Pakistan military had made under Raheel Sharif were thrown down the gutter by General Bajwa. There has been an increase of more than 650% in terrorism related incidents since 2019. 1406 security personnel (all agencies) have been killed since 2019 as per independent researchers tracking Pakistan. While this is sad, it’s embarrassing too. How long will our boys keep falling in such high numbers to rag-tag terrorists, from KP to Balochistan? Pakistan army should have ended this menace by now.

Where is the full might?

Why have you failed to trace and neutralize TTP chief ‘Mufti’ Noor Wali for 6 years and counting? He is the longest surviving TTP chief now. All his predecessors were killed by American drones. Since, the American drones are gone, Noor Walli has survived for so long. It raises eyebrows on your intelligence and operational capabilities. If he is hiding in Afghanistan, why can’t you trace and take him out? That would be "full might". Will he continue to survive and become more dangerous until American drones return to the region?

Please don’t talk about occupied Kashmir. You do not have any moral authority to do that. We witnessed how Pakistan army under General Bajwa, General Faiz and Co. put Kashmir in cold-storage. What was decided in those Dubai meetings with India? When Kashmir was "annexed" in 2019, what exactly did you do, other than making songs and publishing statements?

General Bajwa was dying to have trade with India as early as 2021. Imran Khan stopped it. You are again dying to have trade with India. You have in fact, already started it by allowing PTV to pay Indian broadcasters for sporting events last week. It was stopped since 2019.

While there is no comparison between IOK and Pakistan, former being an occupied territory and latter supposed to be a sovereign and democratic state, the situation in IOK today is honestly better than it’s in Pakistan. If I am not wrong, just 4 civilians have been killed in IOJK since 2022. How many dozen innocent Pakistani civilians who happened to be supporters of PTI were killed in 2022 alone by Pakistani security forces?

Neither is internet blocked in IOJK nor is social media. What has been the situation in Pakistan for the last two years? The Kashmir case is gone. You lost the moral authority. Good luck with arguing over "freedom", "free speech", "HR violations" and "internet shutdowns" with India at the U.N.

“Unequivocal diplomatic, moral and political support to Palestinians” till the last surviving Palestinian is killed? This has also been your customary lollipop for Kashmir for the last three decades. Please come up with something new. It has got immensely boring now.

Many Pakistanis have already asked if the men dressed in Pakistan military fatigues seen rigging elections on videos, were Indian soldiers, if not Pakistani. I say to them, you are wrong. Indian army does not provide security services to elections, let alone rig them. So, who were those men?

Also, why is army providing security to elections in the first place? It’s the job of police and paramilitaries. Why does army own everything from providing security to PSL to elections? Army is not a police force. Please allow police, paramilitaries and other agencies evolve, and take this 'burden' from you.

Protesting for mandate theft and striving for democracy in Pakistan, is not “creating political instability”. It’s none of your business to comment on politics of the country. What are you, elected MNAs, MPAs, President, PM or what? Please stick to your oath and the constitution.

"Good governance" is a "real issue", and that is precisely what Pakistanis voted for on February 8. We wanted to have good governance in Pakistan. Then our mandate was stolen. Our "allegations" are not "baseless". There is more than enough available in open-source to back our claims.

It’s unfortunate that rather than focusing on real issues such as respecting the mandate of people, economic recovery, political stability and public well being, entire focus of certain vested elements has been trying to impose tried and tested crooks on the nation once again.

Forum should know that there is something called Form-45. It's an irrefutable evidence. The same Form-45s issued to contestants by the presiding officers at 90,000 polling stations reject forum's “emotional outburst” decree.

Pakistanis witnessed how “smooth democratic transition” it was. The world witnessed it too. All major global media houses reported how “smooth” it was. Many election watchdogs did too. It was so “smooth” that Election Commission did not publish Form 45s for a month, and when it did the other day, Pakistanis and people all over the world saw how [not so] “smooth” the [fudging] “democratic transition” was.

There will be no political or economic stability in Pakistan till the mandate is not returned to the people. By imposing those who were rejected by people, on the country and its people will only make the instability worse. You don’t need a PhD to understand this. You just have to be a FA-pass.

It’s honestly so embarrassing to see corps commanders issuing statements on hoarding and electricity theft. What are you now, a Tehsildar, a mayor, SHO or a FIA agent? What military in the world does this? When will Pakistan army become professional enough to mind its own business?

Any “judicial committee” formed in an undeclared martial law; by an illegitimate government (junta) and by those characters who robbed Pakistan’s largest and most popular political party of its electoral symbol, reserved seats, failed to deliver justice in the last two years will not have any credibility. Only an inquiry by an elected government and judiciary that is not biased and is acceptable to all, will have a credibility. Everything else would only be a waste of time and resources.

The majority of the Pakistanis showed on February 8 that they are educated and smart enough not to fall for "confusion and disinformation". Those who tried to confuse Pakistanis by feeding them disinformation through mainstream media and its touts since May 9, lost the elections, those who filed nomination papers to contest and those who contested without filing them!

Pakistanis gave their verdict on "May 9", on February 8.

We expect you to defend territorial integrity of the nation, deter potential adversaries and fight and win wars for Pakistan, not indulge in social media policing and issue fatwas over it. There are already mechanisms in place to take care of the law and order, if there is any violation. Law is not someone’s likes and dislikes. It is written in black and white in our constitution.

Thank you for serving the nation when you do! Please be sure that we will indeed wholeheartedly participate in the progress and development of the beloved country. It started on February 8, will continue till we recover our mandate theft, restore rule of law in Pakistan, and then we will never look back, insha'Allah.

footnote: My opinion on not declaring soldiers KIA as “martyrs” is purely based on my understanding of Islam, and my longing to see ours becoming a professional military. It has got absolutely no relation with what happened in the country for the last two years. I was always of this opinion. I’ve read enough Islamic literature to come to this conclusion. As already mentioned in my post, I’m happy to be educated (with daleel) if my understanding is incorrect. Thank you!

With the issue of Shahadat, Only Allah knows what is the niyat of the person who gives their life for Allah, Islam, or to protect their family.

The issue is not Army or corrupt politicians , Issue has always been lack of power of the Judiciary.

The solution in my opinion is to create a Federal military police above all enforcement agencies, that protects the Judiciary and becomes the arm of the judiciary to carry out its orders.

Seperate. army. From domestic intelligence gathering and give that power to the federal police . ISI. Should work with the military and executive branch on alll international matters.

Separation of powers will create a check and balance
